French composer and producer based in New Zealand, Hawaska beautifully blends emotive neo-classical works with electronic music - creating soft, melancholic but somewhat luminous journeys. 

Sebastien’s passion for music started with the drums and other percussive instruments at age 10. Although he trained in a classical music school, his interest for classical music and more specifically piano based works came much later. He spent his teenage years in the suburbs of Paris, obsessed with Nirvana and other heavy rock music bands. 

Sebastien gained experience in writing and music production from his prior indie rock projects. His day job allowed him to live in many different countries, where he was exposed to a variety of music until he decided to call New Zealand his home. Many things have changed in his life and so his music. The loud drums and distorted guitars have been replaced by dreamy piano chords and electronic beats, which led to the creation of Hawaska. 

Sebastien has always loved nature, the greatest artist of all and from where he takes most of his inspiration. Other influences include Olafur Arnalds, Nils Frahm, Jon Hopkins, Christian Loffler… and many other artists who have contributed to the  development of his unique sound.
Following a very intimate and introverted process of music production, he released his first single ‘Ascending’ in September 2022, which will be followed by an EP in the coming months.
