Shika Shika is very happy to present the 4th edition of our Passages series dedicated to migration. This new volume features Alex Musatov

Alex Musatov is a violinist and singer based in Buenos Aires since 2011. Russian by birth and Argentinian by choice (although also having a grandfather who’s originally from Argentina), he started out as a session player moving freely across all kinds of musical generes (tango, indie, folk, punk, electronic) to this day appearing on around 100 records and touring in more than 20 countries around the globe. His anti-academic approach to violin-playing is driven by his urge to explore new musical horizons every day and is the reason he started writing songs exclusively for violin and voice mixing folk, gothic and neo-classical influences.
This collection of four musical moments is inspired by a bittersweet feeling of not knowing where you belong (Home), toxic relationships (Eye of the Storm), crossing all kinds of borders (Frontier), and dealing with hypocrisy (Kingdom of Dust).

All sounds without exceptions are done with violin and vocals.
Written and produced by Alex Musatov between january and july 2023 at his home studio.

The Foot Steps – Reggae Infused by The Jamaica Band vs Blackfoot
This album brings together The Jamaica Band’s deep reggae grooves with Blackfoot’s earthy, roots-inspired sound. The title The Foot Steps symbolizes a journey—each track walking the line between Caribbean rhythm and Native-rooted storytelling. The Jamaica Band provides the steady offbeat pulse, warm basslines, and syncopated percussion, while Blackfoot contributes raw vocal textures and folk-rock energy. The fusion creates a layered soundscape that feels both grounded in tradition and adventurous in spirit, highlighting reggae’s ability to adapt and resonate across cultures.
