Sitting in the dim light,
Black wings cutting through the haze.
The judge holds every card now,
Throws them in the fire and walks away.
Summer never came back
just the heat that makes the lies decay.
Something moving under the skin,
no legs, no eyes - but still awake.

The worm wears a mask now,
crawling through what’s left of me.
The flowers don’t bloom, they stare
roots in chains beneath the street.
The hammer falls again,
the sound rings hollow through the air.
All the little things still whisper:
“Girl, this is the life you made
now sit and taste it slow.”

The sky opens,
and the birds rise
black dust in a dying light.
