Y O K O C H O’s debut on Ransom Note Records sub-label, Insult To Injury (run by remixer Timothy Clerkin) is a low fidelity, nostalgic tour de force.

Hailing from Antwerp, Belgium, Y O K O C H O has inherited the New Beat mantle and run with it; putting his own, inimitable spin on it! The EP will also be available on cassette tape, where it truly belongs.

Lead single ‘Everyday Diamonds’ is a feel-good summer hit, perfect to lift one’s spirits heavenwards, post-lockdown! ‘Data’ brings us crashing back to earth with some distorted, visceral 303 action, providing a down & dirty antidote to the single.

‘Other Side Of The Mirror’ brings yet more lofi drum machine groove to the table, before we’re drowned in a sea of lush, ambient vintage synthesizers at the breakdown. ‘See You There’ is the perfect way to close out – if robots in the 80’s dreamt of paradise islands, this was to soundtrack to their dreams. Sublime.

Label owner, Timothy Clerkin has produced a 303-propelled, Acid-House dance-floor destroying remix of ‘Everyday Diamonds’, which provides a counterpoint to the wobbly tape, slow-mo originals, ensuring that the Y O K O C H O sound can be translated into any club environment.

We’re back with @kablys resident and ½ of the darkest room in town. John Patter aka Jonas Calli recorded a dusky ambient set filled with deep drones and blurry rhythms. Nothing more you’ll need to cope up with autumn Monday's melancholy.

Edinburgh enigma @eyesofothers comes back with friends on the Global Warming Records catalog. Half a year after the release of his critically acclaimed mini-album Elevenses, he invited a couple of brilliant producers to rework his ghostly leftfield pop productions.

A fellow scotsman to start with, the sluggish beats enthusiast @coolantbowser makes his remix debut here reshaping ‘Elevenses’ into a slow and swinging dancefloor heater.

Also on the lineup, our homeboy Jon Beige @beigebeige brings some heavily chemical energy with a slower-but-faster take on ‘First and Last’, loaded with high tech percussions and hypnotic dub soundscapes.

The release is visually scored by the Manchester-based creative studio DRME, using original Eyes of Others footage from a remote island in the Scottish Hebrides.

Global Warming Records is run by Franco-British producer and talent seeker @malcolmaudio, who imagines and shapes each project hand in hand with his artists. Remixed Twice will be the label’s 17th release.

For February woashing routine, we’ve invited a locally known Parisian from the 90’s GOA and trance period. Even though Pépé has been around for quite some time now, over the last few years he released many banging EP’s and singles that found a place on our family's playlists. 

Pépé also owns and curates L'Acid Render-Vous party night and monthly show on @rinse_france where he hosted dozens of established names to explore and share sometimes slow, but mostly psychedelic sound.

MIJU

Belgrade-born, Vilnius-based MIJU is a DJ by night and human rights activist by day. MIJU guides her musical direction by seamlessly blending in fractions of breakbeat, electro, house and acid, accompanied by melodic undertones. What distinguishes her selection is her determination to create the unexpected and eclectic twists and turns which resonate between the boundaries of old and new. MIJU is a new resident of Vilnius-based club Opium and has monthly shows on Radio Vilnius. MIJU performed in festivals in Lithuania, Latvia, had her tribute at EXIT festival, Belgrade Barutana and Servis Fantazija in Pristina. MIJU had live radio performance at Amsterdam's vinyl shop Mary Go Wild, French Ola radio, virtual Mixcloud festival and Amok Radio in Skopje. In Tirana, MIJU had her tribute couple years back in Destil. 

MIJU's sets are always playful and her main goal is to push for that extra dance step. In her view, electronic music is expression of freedom and dancing is setting you free. She’s been dedicated dancer and electronic music lover for years, and this love grew into a desire to offer her selection to the dancefloor.

     MIJU claims space for female and queer artists      and promotes freedom, love and unity on the dancefloor.

Radioblog Tirana on Soundcloud was shown to me by a friend from Prishtina. I remember we were listening one set together in Belgrade and I was taken away by the sound coming out. Later on I was hooked. Artists on your channel got some nice selection going on! I’m a fan! 


My selection for Radio Blog Tirana was inspired by the present moment. I didn’t think about making a set. I had made a folder on my flash drive and let myself enjoy the moment. One of the messages I knew I wanted to send is one of friendship. I’ll let your ears be the judges of the sound.

Trip intensifies. After chilly spring, we’re optimizing the mood with comrade Cheff Optimal. Quite an odd time to experience what’s going on around us, thus, his musical reflection will fit the mood and prepare for the upcoming summer season.

As Cheff himself mentioned: “I hope the selection will appeal to both the team and the listeners. And if at least one listener is hooking on the thread of the inner world, my time spent on the set will make me proud.”
