Following up on his 2015 Seeing Sounds LP for Dispatch Recordings, the Bristol-based DLR brings the heat once again with the absolutely stunning 14-track Dreamland album project. Conceptually organized around the desire to help listeners break free from the societal chains that bind them, DLR not only seeks to “challenge the barriers and comfort zones” on a musical level, but hopes to inspire people to “resist the inadequate reality we are sleepwalking into; an inherently greed based system, where numbers govern art and culture, whilst popularity determines the success of social causes, as issues are picked up and dropped in the blink of an eye.”
While the album doesn’t drop until next week be sure to check this exclusive premiere of DLR’s untouchable collab with Break, titled 'Wonder What It Feels Like.' From the crisp percussion-driven intro that paves the way for a shuffling groove and subtle tech-driven hook, this head-nodding, ass-shaking, crunchy cut is guaranteed to blow your socks off.

Cities like Bergamo and Berlin are well known for their part in building the foundations of Europe’s creative scene, priding themselves on the drum & bass explosion which took homage throughout its renowned dance music spaces. And they have a great understanding of what records command these dancefloors. After promoting drum & bass events for over a decade, Delta9 Recordings was a logical progression from their events imprint, centralising their sounds on the darker, more minimalistic styles which pay homage to the label’s roots. With Delta9 Recordings having its foundations in both cities, they decided to open a sister label focused on the promotion of the deeper Drum&Bass vibes and promosing newcomers!

From the depths of United Kingdon, Retrakt has homed in on his deep, nominal sonics for this next EP on DLT9. ‘Nova’ takes you through the motions which have made Retrakt such an imperative name amongst the underground newcomers, with his judiciously created sequences becoming staples across their sets. ‘Madman’ features foreboding bass shots which lead directly into manically fluctuating drum patterns. If this is the first time you’ve been introduced to Retrakt’s craft, it’ll be a baptism into fire, but one signposted by diligently manufactured music.

This EP set a new begin for Delta9 Recordings' sister label DLT9, which has already planned few other releases for the next months!

Following up on our catalogue, we’re happy to announce our latest release, featuring a single from the Finnish young prodigy which is Nosfer. 

After first releasing on Counterpoint back in 2017, Nosfer has been walking his sonic path, mainly through his collaborations with the Music Squad collective. While becoming a more spread out name in the scene, mainly through his music on Principle Records and the Music Squad label itself, Nosfer is still pretty much a rare undiscovered diamond of talent. 

Having the privilege of working closely with the artist for the past two years, we have been constantly surprised by the amount of creativity cored inside his sound. The first wave of this output comes in the form of this single, which showcases both an outstanding production skillset and an emotional approach to the “deep-tech” sound of Drum & Bass. 

Side A // Nosfer – Interlinked 

It is not that usually that we find a perfect balance between the highly demanding technical sound of deep Drum & Bass, and soulfulness of more musical pieces. For us that is the Counterpoint – the exact sweet spot of our sonic aesthetic. Interlinked, for us, is that perfection in equilibrium. 

The dark futuristic soundscape of the intro drops into a razor-sharp percussion, conducted by a very intense low-end pressure. The perfectly crafted midrange synth sounds tip the scales back towards the musical side, giving the track a noticeable twist towards a more melancholic note.
