With previous editions compiled by S.P.Y, Fred V & Grafix and Etherwood, and with a nod back to the iconic artist-led Hospital Mix series put together by London Elektricity, Logistics, Danny Byrd, Nu:Tone and Cyantific, Lens is swiftly on her way to joining the ranks of D&B royalty. Get locked and loaded for a sub-thumping, 17-track selection of new and exclusive cuts from Camo & Krooked, Fade Black, Watch The Ride & Emz, Logistics, Subwave, TC, Whiney, Winslow, Lally & Lens plus heaps more.

The ‘Lens Mixtape’ will be available on limited edition cassette tapes as well as on all major streaming platforms, which will include a continuous DJ mix of compilation cuts together with some fresh Hospital Records heat.

Dance music kingpins Watch The Ride consisting of DJ Randall, DJ Die and Dismantle supply a crisp cut bouncer of an instrumental straight out the gate for Bristol based mic controller Emz to shell down. Legendary doesn’t quite cut it - this one will be rolling through raves left, right and centre.

Lens’ debut release ‘Love The Way’ is an exciting jungle fused collaboration with rising producer Lally whose already dropped impressive releases with the likes of Hospital, Soulvent and Archway. Expect soul-infused samples, raw breakbeats and a shredding bassline.

Other compilation highlights include the widely anticipated Fade Black remix of Camo & Krooked’s anthem ‘Loa’, alongside a brand new bubbler from Whiney & Slay, a fresh feel-good dancefloor destroyer from Logistics, as well as cold killer cuts from SL8R, Joja, Euphonique & Redders, Nectax & Parly B, and lots more…

Tearing up clubs, festivals and airwaves worldwide, Lens is in huge demand, relentlessly unleashing her untestable armoury of tunes at a long list of legendary shows including Sun & Bass, Audioriver, Fabric and Drumsheds. For stay-at-home listeners, Lens also hosts the monthly Hospital Records Rinse FM show. Appearing on her very own Hospital Mixtape compilation is just the start of an extremely busy 2022. Through its 10-year history, Skankandbass has been dedicated to the official promotion of drum & bass, and providing a platform for up-and-coming talent.  It was through the launch of its record label that they took it to the next level, and since its first release in late 2015, Skankandbass Records has provided an exposure platform that is second to none for some of the scene’s most exciting newcomer producers.

To see the successes of the label alumni, you need not look any further than the tracklist of SNB50.  Skankandbass’ most ambitious release yet, the various artists EP features the reworking of five of the most distinct cuts from the label’s short history. 

Recent Metalheadz signee Grey Code’s excellent track ‘Veilig’ is given a hypnotic rework by Data 3, while Mitekiss (fresh off the release of his debut LP on Hospital) is remixed by Shogun residents Deadline. Critical signee Cruk, the extremely talented Klinical, and Particle (whose Original Nuttah bootleg tore through the scene last year) round off the release, all with stellar efforts. 

Releasing on Friday 19th April 2019, SNB050 is a testament to the incredible talent which Skankandbass has always attempted to shine a light on, and will be celebrated with a takeover of room three of the iconic fabric London on the same night of release.
