As a region, Southeast Asia plays host to a colourful electronic music scene, rich with diverse sounds, landscapes and audiences. In recent years, cross-pollination and collaboration have become important facets of this scene, with inspiration and energy transmitting regularly between cities and crews. Central to many of these exchanges has been Bangkok-based DJ, producer and label-head @sunjuhargun, whose distinctive blend of vibrant, sophisticated psychedelia and the natural sounds of his surroundings have seen him grace stages in clubs, caves, forests, warehouses and castles across Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and onwards into Europe. 

His current project, @siamesetwinsrecords, also finds a solid foundation in pan-Asian connections. A platform to explore old-world chants and ceremonial percussion, the label hosts many of Sunju's own works, including Bollywood-inspired acid made as Mogambo and wildly meditative Thai temple drone music as Khun Fluff. 

Sunju’s Patterns of Perception 99 is a recording from a recent visit to Japan - more specifically from his appearance at a Transcendence party at Circus in Tokyo. 
Humming with psychedelic movement, this set finds Sunju channelling the intimacy of the venue to great effect, intuitively balancing nostalgic groove, sweaty exotica and cutting-edge trippiness. As we descend further into the mix, it's impossible to not feel a tightening of focus as spiralling energies shimmer and release.

Bringing you back to the opening hours of our last party. @nera-ja took us on a journey trough the deep and trippy. 

Nera loves showcasing her fondness for the progressive and dubby corners of music, often rooted in the '90s. In her sets she meanders through trance, techno, dub and trippy tracks, establishing either deep progressive sets or more uplifting house-saturated mixes.

She always aims to create spacey & trippy journeys that touch on nostalgia and otherworldly dimensions, while not being afraid of fun twists.

Throughout summer we’ve had several moments of joy, but we wanted to make sure we wrapped it up with something special. The final event of the season was our traditional open air gathering organized with the guys from nite vibes. This year, at a completely new location. 

Situated in the forest of the outskirts of Prague, the party exceeded the exceptations. Right after Shoal’s live set, @n-c-o-l stepped in with a set that was beyond ecstatic.

It’s hard to find the right words to describe what her sounds transmitted to the crowd, so we made sure to capture it instead. 

Take a glimpse yourself & dig into an hour and a half of sweaty & muddy techno that will take you back to the foggy air as the sun was rising.

A special one for #114 from a dear friend and renowned but noble talent, Montreal based @priori-ties. Head of the ever-impressive NAFF output (@naffrecordings), world class DJ & chameleon producer, he is constantly working on something new and exciting.. never missing a beat. 

One would only have to indulge in Priori's impressive back catalogue to attest to his consistent quality but evolution of style and creative flow. Seeing Francis play multiple times on his recent tour to Australia really cemented all of this for me.- one of the best in the biz!

GiGi FM, aka Giulia Fournier-Mercadante, is the latest refreshing addition to our REC series. Her visit at Fuse left us all in awe, and for a good reason. Fitting no stereotypes, the French/Italian artist slides with brilliance between many genres and sub-genres with a selection sharpened on the wire and a sonic twitch that one should try to follow. 

Brutal and soft at the same time, GiGi FM puts in motion a delicate setting where primitive energy collides with a myriad of sensorial textures. It's elegant. It's calibrated. In short, it's good.

When recording this mix, I imagined playing a set at 6AM, at the end of a high intensity rave outside in nature. Going from hazy pre-dawn darkness, to the sun cresting over the horizon and into glorious sparkling sunlight 🌤

A sunrise set for when you can telepathically feel the energy of everyone else on the dance floor. These are the moments I am missing right now, and this mix is dedicated to those luminescent mornings.

These are all my most sacred, emotional, magical tracks in one mix, including many of my favourite ‘90s techno-trance records from a golden time for transcendental dance music.
