For the last 3 years, Dreaming Vinyl have been operating as a motion graphics studio and music discovery platform; where they reimagine a variety of their favourite records in the form of animated vinyl stickers. Their studio have been commissioned from the likes of XL Recordings, Blue Note, Rhythm Section, Anz & EGLO Records + more.

This year Dreaming Vinyl launch their label: DV Records, kicking it all off by celebrating 9 exciting electronic dance tracks for their V/A charity release. The 9 compilation tracks are paired with 9 visualisers, designed and animated by the Dreaming Vinyl co-founders, who have a deep interest in audio-visual relationships. The compilation features talent from the likes of Elphin, LUXE, Impey, Herman, DJ ojo, Sister Zo, GoodMostlyBad, Ikävä Pii, and Tim Reaper.

The debut compilation explores a CD release raising money for MAP Charity. MAP Charity is an alternative education provider working with young people in Leeds who are unable to access the mainstream school system. Young people access empowering music and arts qualifications and opportunities to professional pathways at their home, Hope Foundry is also home to MAP Charity's in-house fundraising event Cosmic Slop - where resident and guest DJs play records through a unique custom-built soundsystem and 100% of the funds raised goes towards supporting the education programme.

PREMIERE: Sister Zo - Fugitive (DV Records)

W133 starts the year with a brand new release by Ulm’s producer Kid Kun. He delivers four hard-hitting techno/bass hybrids complemented by a remix from No Sir, who returns to the label after an appearance on W133001.

"Gaslight," the title-giving track of the EP, immediately sets the tone for the release. Dark atmospheres and sci-fi pads decorate the driving broken baseline and kick. After that, "Hypersonic," with a similar vibe but slightly more chill energy, grooves its way into your ears. In the third position, we find the dancefloor smasher "Send Your Stuff Into A Modular System And Smile." It bursts with energy and pushes you forward with a distorted bass, hidden voices, and breaky drum patterns and will definitely make you smile. The last original track of the EP is "Inflict," another dark sub-frequency roller, this time with long melodic bassy pads and a spooky touch.  On remix duties, No Sir delivers a playful interpretation of "Hypersonic," giving it some arpy high acid sounds with tripped-out rhythms!

The EP is available as a digital download, or can be ordered with a printed and signed artwork in A4 size. The photography for the artwork is by Freya Gerz.
