Nobody has to introduce Felix Kröcher. From his home base in Frankfurt, the very center of Europe, he is able to attract the most simple elements that define sounds in scenes around the continent and like a good alchemist turn them into gold. In Catena EP he demonstrates how simple elements can turn into the deepest, mind blowing creation, without crossing the borders of minimalism. Catena is a master piece of deep techno, while Wigbert's remix to it is a master piece of minimalism and powerful use of synthesizers. In the second track, "Stars", he takes those elements adds a powerful peak time groove that even Umberto Pagliaroli's Tech House remix to it could not astray from. Simply, overwhelmingly, deep.

Now in its second decade, with a steady stream of the most forward thinking and cutting edge techno productions, Drumcode has one of the biggest selections of releases from industry heavy hitters, whilst not forgetting its future by bringing the newest talented producers into the limelight, where Layton Giordani is now a name firmly within that line up.

The New York born, but now EU based producer first had recognition back in 2014, and his debut release came via Drumcode with his track “Rivington” on the A-Sides Vol5 compilation in 2016.

Full force into 2017, Drumcode has announced the release of Layton’s debut album with “Where It Begins” this February. Consisting of 12 original tracks, the album packs a punch when it comes to no-nonsense techno. Successfully weaving relentless drums and catchy vocal hooks into a selection of thick, brooding, atmospheric tracks.

Teasing us with a sample, Drumcode has released “Good Violence” – thumping from the get-go in true Drumcode fashion, this track is a pure dance floor destroyer. Laced in some heavy low end power, slapping percussion and a hypnotic synth pad to build up that late night tension just right.

Carl Cox is an industry figure head whose legacy in music includes his iconic label Intec, which he runs with friend and business partner Jon Rundell.

Techno focused, the new Intec release comes from Nicole Moudaber who is one of the worlds leading DJs and producers. 

Having graced the best known clubs and festivals in the world she is a headline act who has also released music on labels such as Adam Beyer's Drumcode and Pan-Pot's Second State.

Empty Space is understated Techno with sparse percussion and deep atmospherics layered over a prominent kick drum. Dark and eerie with industrial undertones, this intelligent track is like a detailed piece of black and white artwork, where shade and texture are used to add contrast and eloquence.

Be Gone has a menacing lead synth and enthralling offbeat stabs that combine with subtle pads to creature a brooding tension. Dancefloor focused, its all about the breakdown where everything becomes a tornado of sound until the storm breaks and a pounding kick drum emerges.

Young Hearts is stripped back with fast flowing high hats and monstrous synths that bellow like air raid sirens. Adding to the menace are sculpted sounds which weave round the vigorous rhythms of the mechanical percussion that houses the tracks array of sonic components.

Weska - Stranger In A Strange Land (ft Thomas Gandey)

Shlomi Aber makes his debut on Drumcode Ltd with a piercing four-tracker for the vinyl only offshoot.

Israel’s Shlomi Aber remains of techno’s most consistent artists, with a career stretching back 15 years. The label boss of Be As One, Aber has also had his music released on such imprints as R&S, Figure and Ovum, reinforcing his status as a purveyor of classy yet impactful techno. 

His contribution to Drumcode Ltd puts a fresh take on the classic pounding DC sound of the label’s early years, an era the DJ/producer has long been a fan of. Beginning with ‘Inflict’, the EP lays down its heavy-hitting intentions from the onset, as a persistent muffled vocal build beneath a bed of steely percussion, creating a dark tension-filled atmosphere. ‘Accelerator’ follows, the title track that was quite literally born at Basel’s own techno temple Nordstern this year when Aber crafted it into a stunning cavernous beast, using his 909 and XOXBOX Acid machine. ‘Typeface’ is stripped back and functional, an energy-packed tool for building extended techno journeys. The four-piece is rounded out by the fantastic ‘Rain Storm’, that lowers the intensity, as the six-minute cut introduces a new groovier element to the work and concludes the EP is sharp fashion.

Drumcode signee Marco Faraone dominated the 2017 summer season with "Desert Crash," a infectiously mysterious techno cut that got rinsed on multiple ends of the techno spectrum. Finally, widespread recognition had come to the blossoming talent, who'd been a part of the production-sphere for years beforehand.

His standards in forging heavy-hitters has not diminished, as proved by his new release on Carlo Lio's On Edge Society imprint. Its eponymous A-side "Stage Capture" opens the work up on a thunderous note, assaulting the ears with pounding drums, white noise, and robotic vocal samples that add to the tension. Though a rough ride from start to finish, the piece is well-made and futuristic to its core — perhaps another anthem in the making for Faraone.

Summer is coming, and We Are The Brave have a whole list of stacked releases for you to sink your teeth into! Those familiar with the We Are The Brave roster and its past releases won’t be disappointed here. Thomas delivers three mega chunky original tracks throwing in some slashing percussion, booming deep synth stabs, rigid punctuating kicks and a little acid riff modulating in the closing track ‘Believe’. 

“He has a really impressive skill for combining interesting melodic elements with very powerful driving grooves and his tracks sound really fresh. A genuinely exciting talent” adds Alan.

Keeping up the original works for his home label Skober has done lots of tracks and remixes for labels like Drumcode, Terminal M, Tronic, ELEVATE, Phobiq, Kling Klong, Analytictrail, Respekt, Trapez. There were numerous entries in techno and minimal tops on different music shops all over the world done by Skober's music and he got support from some serious players in this industry. 

He is supported by such famous artists as Adam Beyer, Alan Fitzpatrick, Joseph Capriati, Slam, Dubfire, Sasha Carassi, Markantonio, Luigi Madonna, Harvey McKay, Mark Reeve, Spektre, Tom Hades, Axel Karakasis, Steve Parker Loco & Jam, Mr. Bizz, RedHead and many others. But he is not running over the quantity of tracks as his main point is quality and ideas. So watch out and support!
