Who is Toh Imago - the artist behind ‘Nord Noir’? We already knew him at InFiné, but let’s preserve a pure listening experience because now he is, and will be: Toh Imago.

Inspired by Sorj Chalandon’s novel “Le jour d’avant” which describes the dark reality of miners in the North of France’s, Toh Imago dove into the deserted coal mines that surround him to create ‘Nord Noir.’ A hypnotic album that draws a landscape inhabited by ghosts, where harmonic fumes swallow the rhythm of the machines. If you hop into the cart through the tunnels with Toh Imago, it might be a shaky ride.

However, as Daniel Avery or Blawan, our new man demonstrates that techno, in the beautiful and modern sense of the term, often rises from the smoke and ash of the industrial world’s decay.

Hailing from Cracow, Diabot is a DJ and electronic music aficionado with more than a decade of experience behind the decks. During this time he has had the pleasure to perform in clubs all around Poland and support world-renowned artists such as Oscar Mulero, Function, Staffan Linzatti, Len Faki, Phase, SNTS, UVB, Synthek, Makaton, Lag, Perc, Truss, and Pfirter, among others. Together with his friend Paweł Janeda, Diabot runs the Strikt radio show and label, focused on showcasing primal, transcendental and timeless sounds. Since 2018 he has been involved with the Vultur collective, lead by aetha and rraph. A committed vinyl junkie, Diabot loves to dig deep into a variety of styles, resulting in a raw and hypnotic style.

The city of Skierniewice (Poland) is located between Warsaw and Łódź on the Łowicz-Błońska Plain. End of 2020, beginning of 2021. The time we spend tied to home desks and computers. A time of pandemic and lockdowns. The time when we do not move freely and our communication has changed significantly from direct to that using technology. This initiative is revealed in this difficult situation with the first release in the form of a 7-piece compilation. "Zathra" - an innovative project involving several people from the circle of non-commercial electronic music and visual forms of art such as photography, graphics and modern video design. Each participant of this issue comes from Skierniewice and "Zathra" awakened in us a common vision and goals. Launch of the local scene, DJ sets, live acts, design, photography, support in artistic development and upcoming releases, both digital and vinyl. The name was adopted by the collective, derived from the name of the Polish company Zatra, which during the Polish People's Republic produced transformers and had its factory in the city.
  
The original assumption was that each project participant would prepare an original piece in any musical style and present his work as a reflection of the vision of our city. Thanks to the free approach to sound design, a compilation was created, which in the name refers directly to Skierniewice in the form of the postal code "VA: 96100"
The release offers the listener a journey through many styles of electronic music. From noise ambient through several varieties from classic and experimental shades, through techno such as deep, acid and dubstep to hip-hop, the compilation offers a sublime reflection of the climate of apartment blocks, dirt and the dangers of the city, the cheerful and lazy years of childhood and entering adulthood and gaining momentum in life. From hardships and hardships to fun and joy. All this against the backdrop of the city of Skierniewice that has been changing over the last 30 years. Works with songs are finalized in video forms that show both gray and nostalgia, but also modernity and contemporary style of producing widely understood electronic music and images.

Nternal Bserver (read: Internal Observer) produces cooler and deeper varieties of techno served in the form of both digital and vinyl releases as well as podcasts and liveacts. Hypnotic techno containing ambient and experimental structures appear on releases on labels such as Accents Records (FR), Neural Tapes (FR), SYXT (GE), Modular Mind (NL), DVNTT (BL), Crescent London (UK) and many more.

Marcin is the founder and curator of the Zathra project, which is related to the promotion and development of audio-visual works by artists from Skierniewice (a small town located nearby Warsaw).
He is the owner of Unknown Timeline Records and co-owner of Delayed Arrivals Records.
