Luminosity Beach Festival 2014 was an all-round success!! You only have to check out reviews, videos and pictures to appreciate all the effort that has gone in to making it work.  

When I was asked to play, safe to say that I could have relied on the traditional tried and tested approach to Trance classics that we all know and love. I do however like to challenge myself and bring a sense of adventure and excitement into my performance. Achieving familiarity by adding my REBOOTED take on things was the main objective and I wanted to create something special, fresh and of course pay homage to the theme of the arena. I was sent some amazing material in preparation for this event and had more than enough tunes to play beyond my allotted 75 minute set. Unfortunately, due to matters out of my control, the flight was delayed and heavy traffic getting to Bloemendaal Beach meant that I could only play for an hour.

This mix is a special extended treat for everybody who likes my style, attended a sensational gig and have waited patiently for a new mix. I hope that you enjoy listening to it as I did putting it all together :)

Anjunabeats Worldwide 536 with Genix (Anjuna Classics Set Live from Luminosity Beach Festival 2017)

My “Red Spectral” journey started on 7/7/2007 (it’s an easy date to remember) and in the ten years since, I have had many special moments when trying to hold space with crowds of all types.  This experience easily takes the cake.  

Artemis and I planned to divide up our 6 hour set with myself creating the first hour and a half, then going b2b for the middle 3 hours, then with her finishing off with the sunrise.  This recording is my first 1.5.

Because of the nature of recording between two systems, there is not an integrated recording of the night.  I just have chunks of sound and empty space in between when Artemis was playing.  I have cut up the recording and plan on releasing my ~15 to 20 min short stories in a slow drip over time.   And who knows, maybe create more and keep adding to the playlist.  I like that idea at the moment.

I could talk hours about what this experience meant to me, and for us.

If you were there, many thanks for creating alongside us.  Many thanks to Lee for the warrior paint, Zachary for the flowers, Tracy and Camille for the space, Camp Catalyst for the sound, Willow for lighting up the environment with her presence-- the difference is in the details.  I’ll never forget.

The Australian "Return of the Lion" tour was undoubtedly one of the biggest highlights of the year. Two weeks of positioning the unique Gatecrasher Trance sound Down Under. We started our first leg of the tour in Bali, Indonesia and then moved across to four Australian cities - Brisbane, Sydney, Perth and Melbourne! 

It's fair to say that Gatecrasher has amassed a significant following and it was really delightful to meet so many new converts and seasoned veterans. Massive thanks go out to Mark James and Shannon Beveridge at UTE for making this come to fruition as well as all the DJs, who each played outstanding sets and supported the brand throughout the whole tour. 

I played a main room and a classics set at the Studio 3 Crown Casino in Melbourne. Both arenas were completely packed out and the vibe, flow of the music was absolutely fantastic from beginning to end. It has been 10 years since I last toured Australia and I really wanted to make sure that each set played was not only going to reignite some much needed nostalgia but also make it a truly, unforgettable experience for every listener. You can now judge for yourself! ;)
