This project is a reflection into my past where I delve into the experiences that forge who I am today. It is a gift of love to all those who have crossed my path and left me better than how they found me. More than anything, it is a gift of love to myself. Working on this project over the past 18 months with patience and without the pressure of preparing music for the dance floor has allowed me to develop a narrative that is honest, expresses the whole spectrum of emotion, and if the vibe is right—melt the mind

The content includes some short stories I wrote years ago, woven together with a modern twist. Throughout are original pieces by myself including guitar parts and synth lines to augment tracks produced by others. The first 2 parts of this 4 part project have a more experimental and free-flowing format, which begins to crescendo towards the end of Part 2. Parts 3 and 4 will be more energetic and dance floor friendly.

Traumtor  \\ Loopcast#026 \\ Deep House Set

My “Red Spectral” journey started on 7/7/2007 (it’s an easy date to remember) and in the ten years since, I have had many special moments when trying to hold space with crowds of all types.  This experience easily takes the cake.  

Artemis and I planned to divide up our 6 hour set with myself creating the first hour and a half, then going b2b for the middle 3 hours, then with her finishing off with the sunrise.  This recording is my first 1.5.

Because of the nature of recording between two systems, there is not an integrated recording of the night.  I just have chunks of sound and empty space in between when Artemis was playing.  I have cut up the recording and plan on releasing my ~15 to 20 min short stories in a slow drip over time.   And who knows, maybe create more and keep adding to the playlist.  I like that idea at the moment.

I could talk hours about what this experience meant to me, and for us.

If you were there, many thanks for creating alongside us.  Many thanks to Lee for the warrior paint, Zachary for the flowers, Tracy and Camille for the space, Camp Catalyst for the sound, Willow for lighting up the environment with her presence-- the difference is in the details.  I’ll never forget.
