I was going to do a classic blues tune, but then was inspired to write my own, so here is my new original - I hope you dig this one!

The song is based on Steely Dan's Barrytown. I re-wrote the music on my DAW several years ago with lyrics about my cat, Shinobi. Recently I was challenged by Fady to have a female artist sing the lyrics, and I immediately thought of a long-time collaborator friend of mine, J9! It took some doing, but we finally came up with something we both like. Also, it is the first time we sing together! :)

This track is heavy on the drums in the style of Crystal Method. The use of real drum kit sounds instead of processed electronic make it stand out and gives it power. Oddly enough, it has sort of a Stranger Things vibe in spots.
