Shawn Maurice Evans was born April 23, 1987 in Cincinnati Ohio.  Although his parents separated at an early age, his father raised him in the Seven Hills (suburban) area and his mother was located in West wood (inner city) where he visited frequently on the weekends. His father soon remarried and his step mom would introduce 2 children of her own into his blended family. His mother would also remarry and bare 2 more children to add to his already dynamic family. Living with his dad, taught Ceno Reese how to "play the game" and work for what he wanted in life. “We didn't have everything we wanted but we had what we needed to be ok.” 

Shawn started writing songs, poems, and stories at the age of 10 and recorded his first song at the age of 15. As a child, Shawn loved to visit his mother, brother, and sister. Even though the lifestyle was less structured, it was based on enjoying the greater gifts of life. This was the lifestyle before crack cocaine became an issue and everything was lost. Being in a household where your parents are users is extremely hard. Strangers always around, taking jewelry, TVs, and whatever they wanted because of unpaid debts. Seeing this side is where he was introduced to another life; the street life. Looking back, Shawn reflects his belief that his father probably knew how the story would end up had he let fall another statistic like many before him. He expresses his deepest gratitude for instilling morals and principles. On the other hand, he is humbled for the street knowledge he would gain from the times spent with his mother. He knew how to sell crack cocaine by the age of twelve. It was there, he would meet a great ally and friend whom he will always honor, respect, and remember. “R.I.P. Bug!” he says with a look of euphoric recollection on his face. Shawn Evans has always been artistically talented and making music only allowed him to express himself through songs; almost like a journal. That is EXACTLY why the main message is for the true growth and over standing in every track he drops. "I'm not 18 years old, living in the moment thinking that can't happen to me.  I'm now 26 and it has already happened to me” he says. “My own family… with a story of glory, struggles, laughs, and cries that your everyday person will love and relate to all the same.”

Ceno Reese definitely invokes positivity and motivation in his generation, those that follow, and even in those before his own. He is a man, an artist, and more importantly; a father. Respect is a must.
