East London born DJ Ro-Motion is a versatile selector rooted in the UK’s underground dance culture. Focusing on garage, bass, breaks, electro, rave, dubstep, jungle and DnB, his sets are a masterclass in rhythm, soul and low-end.

Infusing mixes with jazz, funk, rap, RnB, carnival, afrobeat and Latin influence from his paternal roots, Ro-Motion’s expansive taste and love of percussion unite diverse crowds under a cohesive yet fluid vibe.

A lifelong raver and true student of sound system culture, Matt’s journey began as a teenager involved in throwing forest parties and pop-up raves where the location was sent by text on the day.

He learned to DJ, then fast forward 2 years he co-founded grassroots brands Kodiak, Reflect and UoB Underground, also co-running Bass Invaders alongside dozens of live acoustic and band events during university.

In Birmingham and Manchester, Ro-Motion’s work is deep rooted in building platforms for boundary-pushing sounds and breakthrough artists from local heroes to international headliners.

Now based in London, Ro-Motion promotes LDN GRV with his brother Adam Romo, exploring garage-adjacent, groove-led sonics in his sets. 

Since his debut on Subtle Radio in 2024, his monthly residency has exhibited his expansive taste from 120 to 174 bpm, showcasing a wave of diverse talent. 

Working in health and social care for 7 years and an outspoken advocate for mental health, disability, and neurodivergence, Matt’s personal story adds powerful depth to the dancefloor. 

Reliant on a wheelchair through much of his early career due to injuries and fibromyalgia, his return to raving and performing is driven by unrelenting passion for music. A mission to move mind, body and soul.
