Romanian DJ and producer Miss Jay, originally from Bucharest and now based in Milan, began her musical journey in the underground hardcore metal scene. This foundation later evolved into electronic music, a transition that continues to shape her unique, genre-fluid identity. Her sets and productions are driven by constant experimentation, merging emotional depth with club-ready energy, and often leaning into the raw, shapeshifting nature of deconstructed club.

The latest installment of our mix series comes from none other than Escuincle—the beloved booty-shaker of the underground, the tender prince of percussion, the gay angel you’ve definitely danced next to at 3am and hugged by 4am. 

🧨Known for club sets at Saturn and Unruly (including the recent Unruly showcase at Bonnaroo) and familial ties to Stroke, Escuincle leaves no waist un-snapped and no floor unsweated. But they surprise us here by offering something deeper, slinkier, stranger. This mix is textured, bass-heavy, expansive. It’s a soundscape for wandering minds and feral limbs; it’s a soundtrack to your favorite afters, the one you only remember in flashes.

📯Raised in ATL, shaped by its rhythms, and sharpened by his queer and latinx lineage, Escuincle moves like a dancer and selects like a shapeshifter. They can soundtrack the scene so well because they are the scene.
