The First Time She Fell is a collection of short stories by Caleb Ludwick of 26Tools. All the stories are based in Chattanooga, TN. The video is a promo for the first official printing of book.
 
The song was written to capture the essence of the book. It is a decidedly southern work, but without the nasal twang. It has a wry darkness, but there are threads of genuine hope throughout. And finally, it exhibits the type of minimalism that is so textured and deep you could live there for days.
 
Though the song has its southern signifiers –like slide guitar and finger picking– there is nothing downhome or bluegrass about it. It ambles along darkly with just a brief taste of uplift, and a depth of personality which is rivaled only by that of the book.
