Midas Touch is referring to a myth where everything King Midas touched turned to gold. In the myth this actually turns out to be a curse. The saying is a double entendre. Most people say that if someone has the midas touch that they are good at everything they do, but also the midas touch can be a curse. Think Icarus or Hamilton, never satisfied, always desiring more. This is the same fate that befalls some who are recognized by their talents but can't ever be satisfied. I resonate with King Midas and Hamilton in the sense that I am never satisfied. This song then is my reminder to be grateful for what I have already accomplished so that I can remember to celebrate rather than always be searching for more.

Grinding

Growing up in the Pacific Northwest made me appreciate the rain so much for what it brings and what it washes away. I now live in California where rain is even more scarce and precious to our dry ecosystem.

Mizu is the Japanese word for water and is the title of my single that drops this Friday on October 28th. I started this song on a long road trip with nothing but my laptop and a pair of headphones. This song has turned it into a musical journey I am really excited to share. The song starts out with an ethereal soundscape of rain and thunder that evolves into a section of the song that I imagine as a storm that clears as the second drop comes in. This song captures, for me, a little bit of the essence of rainy days in the Pacific Northwest.

The rain is such a magical thing in so many ways. I love hiking and exploring outside in the rain or staying inside and cozying up. I love to get creative when the rains come, how my mood shifts into more inward expression.

Praying for a wet fall, especially here in CA.

In 2013, Chloe Herry entered Mr. Bill's Cheyah remix competition, which was hosted via Gravitas Recordings. After earning second place, label founder Jesse Brede knew he discovered someone special. Constantly inspired by her music, Gravitas had the honor of releasing multiple projects with CloZee, notably Revolution, Harmony, and Evasion. Through the years, she has risen to one of Gravitas's top artists. As CloZee begins an unprecedented venture with her new Odyzey Records imprint, she is returning to Gravitas to help raise up the next generation of new artists. The name 'Skysia,' derived from 'sky' and 'sea,' reflects the duality of his music, capable of being both soothing and intense. This balance is a cornerstone of his style, fusing melodic downtempo with experimental bass, and allowing listeners to connect with all aspects of themselves.
