He being one half of Volen Sentir, it’s hard to find someone in the electronic underground music scene who hasn't heard of him. Anjei is known for his distinctive production style, which revolves around progressive house.

Mazayr, hailing from the UK, is a master at blending emotions with music. His productions seamlessly interweave uplifting and melancholic melodies, all anchored by punchy, solid grooves. Navigating the realms of organic and progressive house, his tracks are built to stand the test of time.

Mazayr’s connection to music dates back to his youth when he was a dedicated drummer. This rhythm-infused love naturally evolved into a passion for electronic music. It became a relentless quest to find his unique sound as a music producer. His distinctive styleearned him debuts on prestigious labels like The Purr, Flug Lab,Canopy Sounds, Musique De Lune, Nordic Voyage, Suprematic,Stellar Fountain and One Of A Kind.

Mazayr finished 2022 with a bang, landing a #1 Organic House
release on Beatport with the ‘Hypnose De La Lune’ EP. A debut
album, titled ‘My Canopy’, quickly followed, reaching number #2.
This momentum carried over into 2023 with a flurry of top 10 releases across Organic and Progressive House.

As a DJ, Mazayr has graced numerous stages including Destino
Pacha, the renowned Pangaea Festival and iconic Sankeys nightclub.

In 2019, he embarked on a new journey, hosting events and
launching a mix series under the Right Frequency banner.

Memorial Day marks the start of the sunny season in the States, and for our thirty-sixth Moonlight Mixtape, St.Ego has stirred up some groovy summer vibes. Hailing from St. Petersburg, Russia, St.Ego is an organic house mainstay with releases on the lion’s share of our favorite labels - 3rd Avenue, Nordic Voyage, Elebated, and Daydreamers among them. This week, he’s brought us a mix that’s perfect for sunset soirées, whether you’re keeping it casual with a backyard barbecue or enjoying an elegant poolside cocktail. 

The opening track is a standout Empty World number that’s still on our setlists—what with its dreamy, buoyant breakdown woven between Afro-Caribbean percussion and just the right amount of breezy vocal sampling. We welcome Jack Powell a.k.a Mazayr for the eighty-fourth edition of the 'Deep In Mix' series.

Based in Manchester, UK, Mazayr's productions craft a delicate balance of uplifting euphoria and melancholic introspection, anchored by grooves that hit with precision and depth. Influenced heavily by the trance classics that dominated his early DJ sets, Mazayr’s distinctive style soon found its place on prestigious labels such as The Purr, Flug Lab, Canopy Sounds, Musique De Lune, Nordic Voyage, Suprematic, Stellar Fountain, and One Of A Kind.

Mazayr’s career milestones reflect his persistent dedication and extraordinary talent. Finishing 2022 with the #1 Organic House release on Beatport for his 'Hypnose De La Lune' EP was just the beginning. His debut album, 'My Canopy', soared to #2, setting the tone for a triumphant 2023 filled with top 10 releases across Organic and Progressive House. As a DJ, Mazayr has graced iconic stages, from the legendary Sankeys in Manchester to global hotspots like Destino Pacha and the Pangaea Festival. "Playing at Sankeys was a dream come true. I saw most of the artists that influenced me early on here, so I'm glad I got a chance to play!" he recalls. Mazayr’s influences are as diverse as his music, drawing inspiration from industry giants like Michael Mayer, Sven Vath, Hoj, Hicky & Kalo, Guy J, and Atish. These influences are evident in his nuanced productions and dynamic sets, which craft a sound that is both introspective and exhilarating.

“I have a remix coming out on Stellar Fountain I’m looking forward to. And a track on Gorkiz’s Transensations later in the year that I can’t wait to share!” he reveals with palpable excitement.
