Sir＊from 2nd EP "JUSTIFY" On All Platforms Now＊

For their next EP release, Omar Dahl wanted to pick up where we left off and take a leap forward as a band. After two single releases on different labels, trying to stay relevant in a difficult period for live music, we are excited to be able to present a coherent ensemble of 4 tracks on Underyourskin Records. The meaning of the title is at the same time retrospective and ambitious. 

The first track of Where We Left is the most representative of our sound as a live band (including all instruments), while also giving it a new spin. As the working title was “contradiction”, we chose Basalt (an oxymoron in Dutch language indicating the use of low - bass - and high - alto - voices combined together) as the definitive track name.

DANCE OF THE KING FISHER (WITH SONIC KITCHEN)

Gunshot blues is the first track I have written and recorded. I recorded the track at HQ Studios in Manchester. I first started writing the song about 7 years ago but then moved onto writing the next song and then the next song and so on. I finally got around to finishing this one last year and taking it to the studio to record. I play the guitars, bass and there is an organ somewhere in the background. I then attempt to sing as well. Drums are a mix of samples put together by the producer. There is some other percussion in there such as tambourine and I don’t know if there is a technical name for it but “shaky egg”? My Dad did those as he came with me to the recording studio when i did this track and I wanted him to be a part of it. See what you think…..

If not for me, for someone else. contact me if you're interested. this raw recording is a super rudimentary three track vocal demo made entirely while I was driving. as you can probably tell, all drums, bass and the psychedelic wah-wah bedding are all  beatbox. please comment.
