Reflections

The air was thick with the fog of the morning and the palpable dread of our soldiers as we began to see the formations of the enemy in the dawn’s early light.  The fog gave way to rain and then it began.  The relentless pounding of the trebuchet crashed into the castle walls with a fiery anger that made physical the hateful bloodlust of the screams of our enemy.  Each wall-shaking explosion was echoed by the thunderous yells of the enemy who would soon descend upon us in a stormy wave of murderous hatred.

The first song Frank and I ever learned and performed together. Done as a gift to my buddy Dave. I can't remember if it was his birthday, or a New Year's present. Late Christmas? Who knows. But this was back before we had a SoundCloud, or a Facebook page, or anything even remotely resembling a DAW. Just us, in a room, with a chirping smoke detector. My main influences range from Electronic Music (Jarre, Vangelis, and Tangerine Dream) to Rock, Pop, and Orchestral (Classical and Soundtracks), but also include an occasional bit of Hip Hop, EDM and Dubstep.   I have not tried to imitate any of these artists.  I am experimenting in various genres to find what I like most about each one and see what I can learn from them to add to my personal style.   'Slam-Cut' is a film term for quick jump cuts without much set up.  This is analogous to the variety of genres and themes you might encounter here on my SC page.   I hope you enjoy listening.
