DJ TOOL’s quicksilver sound is as intrepidly propulsive as it is indebted to the old school. Isochronously authentic and assertive, his sets traverse percolating trance, frenetic techno and seductive psychedelia across an encyclopaedic back-catalogue of clandestine classics.  

Enraptured by the raw essence of DJing, TOOL honed his style as part of Copenhagen’s Fast Forward collective, boasting an apodictic vinyl dexterity that quickly earned him international renown. High energy and even higher stamina, his anarchistic and indefatigable 8-hour(+) sets at Berlin’s Mala Junta have catalysed fabled closings at the likes of Tbilisi’s Bassiani, New York’s Basement, and London’s Fold.  

As a co-founder of Mala Junta, TOOL’s assiduous efforts to politicise nightlife and re-contextualise trance within the queer underground has led to multiple collaborations with Berghain, as well as activist DIY collectives worldwide. From the studio to the floor, every ingredient of his output emanates an energy that’s irrefutably TOOL.

Emerging from the US underground before relocating to Berlin, Function's work has played a crucial role in shaping the darker, more disciplined edge of contemporary club music.

As a long-time DJ at Berghain, Function has developed an approach built for extended floors and long arcs. Equally influential as a producer, his releases on Ostgut Ton and Sandwell District established a blueprint for modern techno focused on rhythm, space, and durability.

His sets are stripped back and purposeful, driven by pressure, repetition, and subtle variation rather than dramatic shifts or excess. Everything serves momentum.

Blending lush, pad-led harmonies with intricate break patterns and a raw industrial edge, he has carved out a singular position within the Ostgut Ton universe since his debut on the label in 2012, soon followed by his residency at Berghain.

Slam (aka Stuart McMillan and Orde Meikle) are a tour de force on the global techno circuit. Their unique, six deck, back-to-back DJ performances have seen the duo play leading clubs and festivals across the world. They are renowned for both their experience and their powerful, contemporary sound. 

They are co-owners of Glasgow's Riverside Festival, and also host the legendary Maximum Pressure warehouse parties, which showcase the best emerging local talent alongside some of the most established names in international techno.

Their iconic Soma Records label boasts in excess of 600 releases, hosting Mcmillan and Meikle's own productions and many of today's most cutting-edge techno artists.

The last few years have seen some of the duo's most prolific studio output as they continue to innovate and keep things moving forward, most recently with the release of their experimental full length record Athenæum 101. In addition, Slam have also remixed tracks from the likes of Planetary Assault Systems, Clouds, Dax J, Damon Wild, Richie Hawtin, and Truncate, to name just a few. 

Slam also host one of Techno's most respected weekly podcasts, Slam Radio, which has now surpassed over 400 episodes. The show allows the duo to demonstrate their conviction to creating and promoting music and vibes that provide an antidote to the mainstream by inviting fellow artists from the vibrant Techno scene, from obscure names to current trailblazers.
