UK based Arnaud Le Texier returns to Soma with yet another hard hitting, warping release entitled Mystery Picker. A regular on the global Techno scene, Arnaud’s productions are densely packed and built with attitude. 

Collisions opens the EP at full pace as modulating synths gather momentum, building in intensity with every step. Mystery steps up next, another energy packed affair that doesn’t pull any punches as its hypnotic elements, paired with hammering percussion deliver a hard, driving track. Picker slows things down momentarily but doesn’t drop out on intensity. Constantly modulating and warped synths dominate this more hypnotic track. Parallel Razor closes out with more aggressive elements taking the forefront. Distorted and dark and packed full of jarring and dynamic rhythms, this is a perfect closing track from one of the UK’s undoubted talents.

Slam returns with the follow up to last month's ‘Strange Dayz’ project, the second instalment in their brand new series. Volume Two sees the duo ramp up the dark energy whilst keeping the positive vibes alive and flowing.  
    
‘We thought it would be great to do a series which was only available on Bandcamp, and wasn't readily available anywhere else’. ‘Kind of like in days gone by, where you had to go to a specific record store, because only they had the record’. Says McMillan.  ‘We want this to build up into a collectable series, and all the releases have a strong identifiable sound’ says Meikle.

Slam return on their Soma Records label, with the Quiet Riot EP. 2020 has been a very prolific year for the the duo, delivering their 4th EP for the label so far this year. All their firing trademark sounds and intricacies remain intact in this 3 track hard hitting release. 

Severed opens with hard, industrial elements as the relentless percussion fires off, but in true Slam style the vibe remains hypnotic and engaging. Motor drifts into more Birmingham-esq territory with twitch and modulating sequences leading the way again straight, jacked up percussion. Intensifying things on the last track, Electrical turns up the drive and delivers tension with white knuckle percussive workouts, thundering kicks and dynamic synths.

Slam (aka Stuart McMillan and Orde Meikle) are a tour de force on the global techno circuit. Their unique, six deck, back-to-back DJ performances have seen the duo play leading clubs and festivals across the world. They are renowned for both their experience and their powerful, contemporary sound. 

They are co-owners of Glasgow's Riverside Festival, and also host the legendary Maximum Pressure warehouse parties, which showcase the best emerging local talent alongside some of the most established names in international techno.

Their iconic Soma Records label boasts in excess of 600 releases, hosting Mcmillan and Meikle's own productions and many of today's most cutting-edge techno artists.

The last few years have seen some of the duo's most prolific studio output as they continue to innovate and keep things moving forward, most recently with the release of their experimental full length record Athenæum 101. In addition, Slam have also remixed tracks from the likes of Planetary Assault Systems, Clouds, Dax J, Damon Wild, Richie Hawtin, and Truncate, to name just a few. 

Slam also host one of Techno's most respected weekly podcasts, Slam Radio, which has now surpassed over 400 episodes. The show allows the duo to demonstrate their conviction to creating and promoting music and vibes that provide an antidote to the mainstream by inviting fellow artists from the vibrant Techno scene, from obscure names to current trailblazers.
