Silk Dread is an enigmatic electronic music project by Egemen Hocaoglu, weaving a unique tapestry of sound that fuses elements of ambient, techno, trance, deep minimal and sometimes hardcore with experimental and cinematic textures.

Born in the early nineties, entered the scene around 2015 inspired by the underground electronic music movement and psychedelic culture while studying industrial engineering. He set out on a quest to craft a distinctive sonic identity that defies conventions, guided by a diverse range of musical influences and cultural experiences throughout his life.

Previously making music with different aliases, Egemen Hocaoglu is now ready to continue his journey with his new project “Silk Dread” and perform various genres live with intricate rhymes and haunting melodies by incorporating a hybrid of analog and digital systems.

Silk Dread’s sonic palette, enriched by a fusion of Eurorack modular system, TR8S, Digitakt, Theremini and various sound-sculpting tools including Wave Ring, enables him to manifest an emotive and hypnotic sonic realm.

Insatiable explorateur musical depuis les années 90, Slamooh accomplit sa quête sonore à travers les genres et fait son possible pour en présenter les richesses en réalisant d'habiles assemblages. Absorbé très jeune par la musique électronique et la fusion des genres, fasciné par Amon Tobin, il ne cesse de chercher le mélange idéal qui fera voyager l'esprit. Sur le chemin, il aura la chance de rencontrer son comparse Fly-Abstract Softness et d'expérimenter, un peu plus, l'expansion de son univers musical. Il s'initie au DJing avec un objectif, sublimer ces années de recherche en assemblant délicatement les trouvailles et en les partageant. Aucune barrière, Downtempo, Abstract Hip Hop, Nu Jazz, Dubstep, Drum & Bass, Techno... Dénicher de trop discrètes pépites, les associer à de délicieux classiques, une appétissante recette pour swinguer et pour s'évader... En 2012, il s’allie avec Abstract Softness pour former le duo CALM&kind, une obsession : arranger « à 4 mains » leurs trouvailles musicales, avant tout pour les oreilles, pas seulement pour les jambes.
