Ygam’s co-runner, Catartsis, is back with a new solo EP — “Acier Leste” — a 5-track gathering of intricate tangible grooves. Made by processing and editing various recordings of metal plates, hardware working tools, and other iron objects, each cut takes us deep into sophisticated percussive mechanisms. Alloy-infused rhythms and textures unfold in deliciously subtle industrial breakbeat steppers. Agile acousmatic techno swings that bear the sonic imprint of the metallic bodies recorded and explored by the artist.
