In February 2025, I was recovering from surgery at Inselspital Bern.
Every day I walked through those long, white hospital corridors, trying to retrain my body step by step - passing other patients doing the same in their own ways.

One of them was a young German-speaking man from the room next to mine. He could barely move on his own, breathing with the help of a mask, but his friends often pushed him around the hallways in a wheelchair - laughing, cheering, making the place feel alive.

Then, one evening, I passed by his room and saw it empty. The door was open, the lights were off, and there was only a message written on a medical mask hanging from the handle: “Bin nach Panama, Tiger.”

That moment stayed with me - fragile, quiet, but strangely peaceful.
This song is about that feeling. About letting go, about finding your own Panama - wherever that may be.

I want to dedicate this track to the entire team at Inselspital Bern, whose care, kindness, and humanity helped me through recovery - and to all patients walking their own corridors, one step at a time.

As we mark the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, I wanted to create something that remembers not only the nearly 3,000 lives taken that day, but the countless lives forever changed by it. This song honors those who never made it home, the first responders who ran toward danger while others were escaping it, the rescue and recovery workers who stayed long after the cameras were gone, and everyone who served and sacrificed in the aftermath. But remembrance should be more than looking backward. September 11 is also a National Day of Service and Remembrance, and I wanted this song to reflect what that can mean today: helping a neighbor, reaching out to someone who is alone, serving our communities, and choosing compassion over hatred. Twenty-five years later, we still remember. And through the way we treat one another, we can still honor them.
