IT'S BEEN A WHILE...

A recording from House Music Live @ Uncle Alberts, MiddlesbrougH on Sunday 6th June 2010. Basically, an unofficial event running alongside the Middlesbrough Music Live mini-festival ran by the local Council, focusing more on Dance music & showcasing many of the areas DJs over a 12 hour period. This particular recording took place outside on the terrace at 5.30pm as the venue began to fill (despite the pouring rain!).

I took up DJing at 15, some 25+ years ago; a natural progression from collecting live recordings leaked from clubs from clubs all over the world & making ropey pause button mix-tapes as a teenager.

Ive been mainly influenced by the House & Techno coming out of  Chicago, Detroit & New York over the years, & a little by the early Hip-hop scene that preceded it.  With age, I've become more acquainted with the Funk, Soul & Disco that inspired it.

Im not one for throwing together 15 of the latest promo's. Great music shouldn't be disposable & deserves a reintroduction from time to time. The digital age is cool, but Im a vinyl junkie at heart.
