Balearic is a feeling – and Jose Padilla embodies that feeling.
The hugely influential DJ soundtracked the 1990s with his sunset sets at the Café Del Mar, playing a selection of widescreen electronica, dubbed out ambient and the likes of Penguin Café Orchestra to signal the end of one sun-drenched day and the start of another hedonistic Ibiza night. He changed things forever.
Since then, he sold six million copies of the game-changing Café del Mar Vol 1–6, released two albums, remixed countless tracks and been introduced to youngsters conceived while their parents listened to one of his world-famous tapes.

I took up DJing at 15, some 25+ years ago; a natural progression from collecting live recordings leaked from clubs from clubs all over the world & making ropey pause button mix-tapes as a teenager.

Ive been mainly influenced by the House & Techno coming out of  Chicago, Detroit & New York over the years, & a little by the early Hip-hop scene that preceded it.  With age, I've become more acquainted with the Funk, Soul & Disco that inspired it.

Im not one for throwing together 15 of the latest promo's. Great music shouldn't be disposable & deserves a reintroduction from time to time. The digital age is cool, but Im a vinyl junkie at heart.

Angel began her DJ career way back in 1991. One of the original female DJs in the UK who helped break the stereotype of what was once considered a uniquely male vocation, Angel has earned her place in the UK house scene’s hall of fame.
 
Rewind to 1983 age sixteen with a fake ID and the desire to dance Angel became a regular on Nottingham's underground club scene. The selection of jazz-funk, electro and soul was light years away from anything she’d heard before. After many years as the proverbial club-diva Angel decided she fancied a shot on the other side of the decks. She borrowed some turntables, bought some vinyl and spent the next three months teaching herself to mix. She delivered her first mix-tape to renowned club promoter James Bailie. On the strength of that mix he booked her to play at Nottingham's Venus on New Years Eve 1991, the rest, so they say, is history! 

It's hard to list the achievements of a DJ with more than thirty years in the industry but headlining top clubs like Hacienda, Shindig, Lakota, Pacha...  and playing on line-ups with legends like Frankie Knuckles, Tony Humphries, Todd Terry... and her residency at Stafford’s Swoon rank highly in Angel’s repertoire, as does traveling the world, delivering her dynamic mix of groovy House. 

As well as being a respected DJ, Angel has a history of releases under her belt on labels like Nervous, IIT, LTBH, Seamless, Lapsus and her own label Ocata Records. She's also released three albums under her chill out alter ego  Venus In Motion.

A long time ago, after returning from a trip to Ibiza the decision was made to embark on music production. Getting championed by Greg Wilson leading to the first release on the Chopshop label, things snowballed with tracks released on Midnight Riot, Hot Digits, Disco Dat, Spa in Disco, Sound Exhibitions, Get Down Edits, Masterworks, Hot Groovers & most recently Lisztomania with support from Craig Charles, Dimitri From Paris & Brandon Block. Dave is also known for his productions with Rob Bairstow as Greyskooledits.
