Push Communications' beloved underground series is back again for a ninth edition, having selected the cream of the crop for your listening pleasure. Whether rolling and tribal, deep and disco-laced, or with snatches of acid tech and delicate melodies, this quality compilation is the most trusted cross-section of the hottest sounds in tech house today.

Scene heroes like Vince Watson, Kasper Bjørke and Steve Bug bring their masterful sound to the mix, with standout tracks from this year that pack a powerful punch and demonstrate why they're still at the top of their game. Tech house favourites Marco Resmann, Alex Niggemann and Anthony Collins are also here amongst their peers, adding their own personal flair and dancefloor expertise to a compilation bursting with quality tracks, from familiar names and hot newcomers alike.

By turns atmospheric, emotional and downright fun, it‘s a compilation bursting with surprise and serendipity. 

Kasper Bjørke serves up the ice-cold disco of 'TNR' and the dream-pop arpeggios of Abstraxion's remix of 'Rush'. Dreems pitches in with the crooning curio of 'Rainy Day' and 'In The Desert‘s psychedelic sunrise. Desert Sound Colony and Seconds explore similar sun-kissed territory while Clarian gives us the swirling mantra of 'Ma Shiva'. Francis Harris and Anthony Collins, the duo behind Scissor & Thread, contribute the zombie disco of Lightbluemover and the slow-house meets indie songwriting of 'Trigger Me Out' while Berlin lynchpin Sven Dohse constructs a singular slow house tune from brass fanfares and pizzicato strings.

Proving that Push know their history too, there's even a trip back in time to Phonique's 2005 'For The Time Being'. Plaintive, string-drenched and undeniably groovy, it's perfectly at home in a collection of unalloyed quality.

The opening track, DJ Tennis & Mind Against's treatment of Trentemøller's 'Always Something Better' sets the mood and encapsulates the collection's ethos.

Deep, glowing pads intensify into metallic tones and dancing arpeggios as veteran and up-and-coming producers come together to rework a bona fide contemporary classic. Frank & Tony, the Brooklyn-based duo behind Scissor & Thread, dish up a hazy swirl of slow, reflective house to follow. And Vincenzo & Language hit you with the resounding piano, infinite guitar and soaring female vocal of 'Merry Go Round': proof positive that the quality level is going to be high.

If only fans of every music genre could count on Push to gather the latest and greatest tracks. For the 9th time, the Hamburg label comes up trumps for deep house, doing the digging so you don't have to.

The big hitters get things rolling in style: Steve Bug distils the work of electronica act Pentatones into a deep groove that grips synapse and sinew alike; Alex Niggemann adopts a new alias - C'est Moi - to marry a US garage influence to his distinctively European sensibility and Phonique delivers a new mix of the bona fide classic 'Feel What You Want' - exclusive to this
compilation.

Elsewhere, there's no let up in quality. Ridney, long championed by Pete Tong and Carl Cox, gives us his anthemic rework of Emil Berliner's 'What‘s Love'; Lithuania's Few Nolder impresses with the perpetual motion machine of 'Twin' and Jona and Elia Vens serve up deep, aquatic house.

For the dancefloor, there‘s Taylor's hardcore-inspired re-rub of Steve Bug's 'A Shot In The Dark'; the 2008 classic 'The Passion' with its big, bold piano; Brynjolfur's early 90s homage 'Steezy' with its giant breakdown; Benja & Reta Ardour's highly-rated 'Cognition' and Kindimmer's 'Tremor', a tune that's light and airy yet simultaneously deadly deep. For dreamier moods, Stelios Vassiloudis and Moodmusic label boss Sasse deliver the hauntingly sexy 'Refuse'; Tiago Fragateiro fine-tunes the dreamy spaciousness of Kasper Bjørke's 'Sylvia' and Brooklyn-based Frank
and Tony capture the magic of a perfect sunrise.

Last but not least, Sam K's 'Elido', a masterclass in space and balance, slips in a cheeky Temptations sample - 'I will build you a castle with a tower so high' - that beautifully sums up the ambition and reach of an outstanding anthology.

Known for their outstanding My Tech House and My Deep House compilations, the aficionados at Push bring their curatorial talents to bear on the realm of Progressive House with an anthology that delivers a diversity of sounds in addition to the hallmarks that have made the genre such a peak-time favourite.

Two exclusive tracks set the tone - the stripped-down Haze-M Remix of Phonique's deep house classic 'Feel What You Want' and Oliver Lan's rework of the most seminal trance track of them all, 1993's 'Cafe Del Mar'. Big-name veterans and rising stars jostle for attention. Olivier Giacomotto - head honcho of Definitive Recordings - delivers the bass-driven, spring-loaded 'Dawn', while Joeski brings 25 years experience to the swirling, acidic monster jam 'XXX Part 2'.

throw in chugging synth riffs; Beckers sprinkles his groove with tasty UK-garage inflections. And Worakls and Joachim Pastor both explore tuned woodblocks and idiosyncratic chimes on a textbook foundation of builds and drops.

Contributions hail from every corner of the globe. Switzerland's Khainz serves up ‚Ice‘ for the darkest and dirtiest of dancefloors; a Norway-Czech-Australia axis delivers the soulful vocals and bass undulations of 'Madness'. Last up, Muzzaik's 'Gravy' hits you with a giant Hungarian kick before winding you up into frenzied ecstasy, more than a match for Emil Berliner's dancefloor bomb 'What's Love'.

From dancefloor jams to low-slung sensual grooves, this is the only holiday comp you‘ll need - with two exclusives in the form of Goldwill's psychedelic, disco-inflected 'Nachtzug' and the echoing rave riffs and diva vocals of Alex Blaxx's 'Heartburn'.

Straight from the off, highlights abound, from the booming slow-mo funk of Roberto Rodriguez's 'Has Been' to the deep explorations of Safeword's 'No Mountain'. Hopping over the pond, NYC digger Kon explores Moodymann vibes with the blue-tinged brass fills and piano hook of 'Love Youx' and Brazilian legend Fabrício Peçanha harnesses early Inner City for a massive club joint with soaring vocals and big keys, while every corner of Europe represents, from Jussi-Pekka's Finnish dream-house to Petros Manganaris's Chicago jam 'It Is What It Is'. With the ethereal haze of Lagenberg's 'Sun & Sorrow', the mystery of 'Sister Supreme', the percussive jam that is Bodymovin's ‚Good Time' and the rambunctious disco of Matthias Tanzmann and Daniel Scholz's Gamat 3000 collaboration, the bar remains high from beginning to end.

The track was voted number 1 in Mixmag’s 100 best tracks of all time, as well as occupying the same spot in a Radio 1 poll of Top 20 Dance Tracks of Last 20 Years. 

Honouring the spirit of the track, Push Communications unveil a remix project updating this classic into a 2016 context, via a killer array of contemporary talent. 

First up, Tim Engelhardt casts his spell over the original, providing an epic 10 minute journey that evokes sunset at Ibiza’s Cafe Del Mar through lush evolving sounds and textures. 

Marcel Janowsky’s remix ups the energy levels with a skippy, vibrant and dubby mix that works the source material in fresh new shapes. 

Dale Middleton’s mix is another epic affair, stretching out and giving room for the fully balearic, feet-in-the-sand Ibiza vibe. 

Düsseldorf-based Mario Da Ragnio goes for a more driving take with his rework, pushing things into a darker formation before allowing the famous arpeggiated melody to shine through.

Legends of the scene Marmion return with remixes of ‚Schöneberg‘ - one of their most famous tracks originally released in 1994. The track has been reworked by many artists over the years, but this release pulls together two versions from equally iconic German rave royalty - 2raumwohnung and Der Dritte Raum. 

2raumwohnung, the Berliner electro-pop duo who formed in 2000, add their own distinctive swing to ‚Schöneberg‘ - adding layers of melody and deepening the groove of the track. Retaining the original’s verve, the remix builds and builds until total immersion in the groove is the only possibility.  

Andreas Krüger (aka Der Dritte Raum) has also been producing and releasing tracks since the early 90s, and his reinterpretation of Marmion’s hit is highly respectful. The track is a result of the years of honing skills behind the mixing desk - a beautifully constructed ode to one of the anthems of rave culture.

Kasper Bjørke, the Danish über producer / DJ also contributes an exceptional track from this year, featuring the iconic talent of balearic pop pranksters Laid Back, in the form of a stunning remix by Adana Twins.
