'Aggelos first approached Lurid Music with the idea for this project a few months ago. We agreed on one condition, that all proceeds be donated to refugee causes, like we did with his Black Sea EP which supported the Syrian refugee crisis. When Russia invaded Ukraine, we decided our focus had to be helping the Ukrainian refugees who were forced to leave their homes in search of safe havens abroad.

We discussed this with most contributors to the project and the consensus was that donations should strictly go to humanitarian groups and not any armament funds. There were also some thoughts about helping conflict-affected peoples in other parts of the world but we decided it was too much to tackle for a relatively small project like this one.

Therefore, donations stemming from the sales of this release will be distributed to the following humanitarian groups currently active in Ukraine or neighboring countries welcoming refugees:

The artwork was provided by Bill Brown, a Maryland native who lives and works in Ukraine. When the war started, he made his way safely to Germany via Poland. This illustration is an homage to Maria Prymachenko’s “May That Nuclear War be Cursed!”, which also inspired the title of this release. During these days everyone is going through very difficult times and sometimes it is difficult to look to the future with optimism. Among all this chaos we have love for our own and for music, which is always there to accompany us at all times. That is why we have decided to go ahead with the launch of our next reference, both to keep us busy during all these hours that we will be locked up at home, and to be able to publish this work to which we have dedicated a lot of time and effort to bring it to light.
A work in charge of the Valencian producer Jaime Romero, who had already shown signs of quality with his first productions in the Lontano duo, whose artistic evolution took a qualitative leap by starting to produce music with his project Pajaro Dune and with his new aka Estrato Aurora. After having delivered some excellent works for Appian Records, the London label Bliq and its own platform, Discos Pandémicos, it is
now NNY Records in charge of publishing the four tracks that make up this EP called “Atan”. Four magnificent productions created from many hours of study surrounded by all kinds of hardware, and ranging between immersive and danceable, with master touches of ambient, electro, IDM, techno and dub, which coexist in perfect harmony to make your listen to something physical and mental.

Sonic explorers, label heads, pillars of the Melbourne/Naarm underground, Sleep D explore the rave unconscious - driving rhythms, hypnotic bass, worlds of echo and the hazy bliss of the morning after. Childhood friends with Iraqi and Maltese lineage, the duo and their legacy building Butter Sessions label have ushered in a new era, sensibility and productivity to the city that raised them.

A defiantly DIY two-man assembly line, Maryos Syawish and Corey Kikos have issued a steady stream of diverse records on their own imprint, as well as on like-minded international outposts Incienso, Planet Euphorique and Cocktail d'Amore. Releasing ‘Rebel Force’ in 2019 and ‘Electronic Arts’ in 2023, their albums bind a singular take on mutated house, bush doof, dub techno and downtempo, while their composition and production capacity has also been augmented via 2021’s chamber orchestra collaboration ‘Flashed Glass’ and the rescored film soundtracks for ‘Eraserhead’ and ‘Pan’s Labyrinth’.

With long-standing DJ residencies and an ever evolving live show fit for both clubs and vast paddocks, the dexterous duo’s alchemy has energised hordes across the US, UK, Europe, Asia and Australia.
