"As a child of the 80s a highlight of Saturday morning TV was watching an episode of Transformers. One of my very first attempts at sampling and music production was sampling the 1986 movie on my Amiga 500.

Producing a 'proper' Transformers tune has been on my studio to-do list for years. Then lockdown happened and I finally pulled my finger out and had a proper bash at making something....and ended up with two tracks which I thought were pretty decent .....so here we are :)" - Soul Intent

Handsome Jak - Way to the shore

Bristol based rising talent Sam Binary enters the junglist fray with his twisted rendition of Dead Man's Chest's Westworld, flipping the breezy atmospherics on their head with discordant hardcore stabs and thunderous break edits. 

On the flip, Sam drifts into deeper territories with hints of Photek shimmering amongst the film noir haze of Sentinal Era.

Andy was one of the kindest souls we have ever had the pleasure of knowing and his loss has been felt throughout the music industry and beyond. 

He was such a humble artist who played gigs for the love not the money and made music purely for his and others’ enjoyment; music was his true passion. 

From his first release on Jerona Fruits Recordings in 2007 through Soothsayer Recordings in 2008, Fizzy Beats and Utopia music in 2009 and V Recordings in 2015 right up to his latest on Metalheadz and Inperspective, Andy’s sound is truly unique to him, whatever the style. His edits, pads and bass are instantly recognisable and the two tracks on this vinyl are no exception. 

We are releasing these tracks in memory of Andy and his music, loved by so many. 

On behalf of Andy, his family and friends please join us in continuing his legacy by promoting his music, old and new. Through this he will live on in our hearts, minds and sound systems, forever. 

To honour Andy and the person he was, all profits from this release will be donated to Cancer Research in his name.

For the sixth release Parallax Recordings returns to bring you a double pack vinyl. Plate 1 holds the repress of Fine Feline´s rare '9 Lives' EP that came out on the Cool Grooves Label in 1994 with the catalogue number COOL 001. This were Cool Breeze´s/ Deep Roots´ very first productions that found their way to vinyl on this shortlived, self-runned label. On the second plate are fresh new takes by nowadays heroes Kid Lib - who was over the moon to get his hands on an official remix and chose his fave 'Just For U' - and Ricky Force, who flipped the distinctive rare grooves of 'Weekend' and made it his very own. Deep Roots himself got his hands on his 'One Blood' tune and brought it up to date to nowadays standard. 

The masters to the original release are long lost, so this is professionally restored from a clean vinyl copy by Skunk Association, (re-) mastered by Beau Thomas at Ten Eight Seven Mastering and pressed by Optimal Records in Germany.
