I always have a playlist of random genres & I seem to love a challenge, so, here is my attempt at mixing them together.  

If you've been following me for a bit now, you know I'm not likely to keep to one tempo/genre in my mixes. I like to journey through the sounds and follow my heart.. this one holds up to that, strongly. 

the perfectionist in me could keep trying this over and over again, but I start to lose my authenticity the more I do that. in the end - it's for the love of music & and I hope you can catch some feels within this mix like I do. 🫶🏼

A Tall Glass of Mellownade

We had an amazing beach day on labour day weekend to close out an epic season of Beach FamJams!!  This recording was live off the mixer so you get to hear all our announcements throughout :)  This event was an epic ending to an amazing summer season of dancing on beaches.  Here's to many more!! "10 years of Bliss Coast and the journey goes on. Each year has been a monumental effort and my long-term goal to achieve 10 volumes comes to completion with the release of Muse & Marvel. Over the years many fans have told me how much they still love volume 1, Grass & Gospel. So to round out the series I decided to revisit the year one theme and produce another set of bluegrass and gospel songs refreshed for the festival dancefloor and maximum smiles. It was such a pleasure to perform this along side my biggest supporter and wife Rebecca. Thanks to everyone who joined us for that wonderful experience and to everyone beyond listening now. JPOD Live at Bass Coast 2023 - Bliss Coast 10: Muse and Marvel

This is a set I put together earlier this year which was meant to be played this summer at 230pm on the beach stage at The Pachena Bay Festival on Saturday. Due to what seemed to be an unfortunate surge from the generator, my USB hub got fried, and therefore I was unable to connect my laptop to my mixer. I was heartbroken. Thankfully I had some of the most important people in my life around me to keep me from a complete breakdown. 

After many attempts to get things to work, the decision was made to play on CDJs, through an external HD, which didn’t have the music for this set on it, so I had to quickly improvise. The set went well, people loved it, but I was left extremely frustrated and discouraged. 

In the 30 years I’ve been playing music, I’ve honestly never put so much time, effort and emotion into building a set as I have this one. After the unfortunate events, I vowed I’d never play this anywhere other than the setting is was meant for, but my amazing Estelle 💖 talked me into making this my first studio recording in almost 8 years, and I’m happy she did.

It's been a rough year all round. It's become cliche to say "these are the tunes that I can relax and zone out to" - but it's true. This is a collection of songs that make me smile when I'm outside on a sunny day. No matter how bad things seem, there is always hope and beauty to be found if you look (hard enough).
