Dark Essence Records is a sub-label of Karisma Records. We concentrate on the metal genre and have so far worked with great bands like Taake, Hades Almighty, Aeternus, Nidingr, Helheim, Dimension F3H, Ravencult, Vulture Industries, Deathcon, Malsain and Deathcult. Dark Essence Records is one of Norway’s fastest growing metal labels, with worldwide distribution. 

Sinister heavy rock from Norway!

Slegest has since it`s birth in 2010 delivered heavy with musical roots in black metal and classic heavy rock from the 70’s and 80’s.

Back in 2010 former Vreid guitarist ESE formed SLEGEST.  A pure one man band at first, SLEGEST in 2011 dropped their first release, the self-titeled EP SLEGEST on ESE´s own SYSTROND RECORDINGS label.

In 2013 SLEGEST signed with DARK ESSENCE RECORDS - a Bergen based metal label of considerable renown - and their first album LØYNDOM was released. In fall that year ESE formed a live lineup for SLEGEST. Giving their debut show in the small town of Hoyanger on the northern shores of the Sognefjord, the newly formed lineup -  ESE on guitar and vocals, SØR on guitars, HÖVARD on bass and FJØSNE on ze drums - gave the audience a taste of what was to come.

In 2014 SLEGEST hit the road in Europe with Taake and Aeternus from Bergen, giving the European a finely tuned blend of 70s and 80s heavy rock with harsh vocals and attitude.

In 2016 SLEGEST released their follow up album VIDSYN, and once again hit the road. alongside TAAKE and the swedes in SHINING.

SLEGEST have just released a double 7’ vinyl LAGNAD i E, and they are currently finalizing their third album INTROVERT, to be released on DARK ESSENCE RECORDS 16.11.2018. SLEGEST will do some heavy touring in both Europe and Norway in the fall of 2018!

The translation of the old Norsk name Helheim means literally "The Home of Hel".  The Goddess Hel  is  the daughter of Loke and the jotungiantess Angerboda and the sister of The Midgard Serpent and Fenris. She was condemned by the Gods to rule the Underworld and to welcome all those who died of either sickness or old age. Helheim, or just Hel, consists of nine levels, but each level bears no name.
