Co-founder of the London-based collective Co-Select, Airali brings bright sparkly fun to the 909 mix series.

A core member of Sisu, a community providing a platform for female and NB DJs and producers, a lot of Airali’s output is informed by her work as an AI and music researcher. A resident on Netil Radio where she hosts a monthly show where she showcases her love for deep, percussive sounds, Airali has also contributed to series for FOLD, Earful of Max, New Scenery and will be gracing the infamous Berlin toilet HÖR this weekend.

Speaking about the mix, Airali says, “going into this mix, I knew I wanted to keep it fun and a bit brighter than usual. I recorded it, as I often do, on a Sunday afternoon, slightly hungover and hyper-caffeinated. What came out is an ever-changing mix that shifts through moods, starting fast and wiggly, changing the pace a few times and then going into more bass-heavy territory towards the end."

Paris has been a city closely linked with electronic music for many years. It has acted as the birthplace of many a project, many a record label and many a sound. However, in recent times it has perhaps fallen into a trap of its own making in which Techno and Tech House has become supreme and somewhat domineering. That's not to say that there is anything wrong with this but it's always nice to rock the boat...

That's where Sylvere comes in, a producer on the rise he focusses on fast paced, heavy hitting bass inspired music more akin to that of early soundsystem culture in the UK. Think dubstep meets jungle meets grime meets gqom meets classic techno and everything in between.

Over the past two years he has made a home for himself on Monkeytown Records, the prolific label run by Modeselektor. This is praise in and of itself and joining a ranks of a label which has released some of the most innovative in electronic music over the past ten odd years shows that he might just be on to something. We certainly think so anyway...

This mix is as exciting as they come, a rare glimpse into the booming sound of underground Paris and a statement of intent...

@jkornet is a Zagreb-based DJ, event organiser and promoter active on the local scene for almost 6 years. His DJ sets are often a combination of fast paced dance music from all genres, pervaded with deconstructed, post-club and volatile moments - all coming together to construct a meaningful narrative through his intense blending, cutting and jungle infused mixing style. His recent DJ sets ended up on NTS and Rinse FM shows through hosts such as ZULI and object blue.
