The album is a double album, containing both "patterns" and "The Self", with an interlude connecting them. patterns is built from a variety of different artists' samples and is about how different kinds of patterns can be used to interpret life. The Self is built from samples of beats that the artist had made and found interesting across his time producing and is about different aspects of the self.
