Lobster Theremin's sublabel Distant Hawaii, which so far seems more house and balearic orientated than its cousin, was featured in our Top 100 2015 with the summery track "Bill Loves You" by Hidden Spheres. The label's second release is the "Secret Island" EP by newcomer and London-based producer Tony Donson aka DJ Sonikku, and it doesn't disappoint! The EP's opener"Land Of Sky" premiered here sets the tone with a tough beat backed by a hopping FM bass, house chords and an overall early 90s feel. This is sure to send you straight to that secret island of yours!

It’s not very widely known but, when he’s not digging for other people’s music to play out at the party, Mister Harkin spends a good deal of his time in the studio making some of his own.

Up to now, those efforts have made their way onto records for the always on point Argot imprint in Chicago and NYC's own Throne of Blood. And although he’s DJed at almost 250 Mister Saturday Night & Sunday parties since we got going in 2009, this is his debut release on the label.

It’s made up of three spaciously sculpted club scorchers, ripe and ready for the power hour, and we’re super stoked to finally be able to share them with you.

The Bobby Donny label hits number four with a first EP of 2016. After efforts from label owner Frits Wentink and Eindhoven producer SAN2, this one comes from Tlim Shug. The low-profile American producer has only one EP to his name so far, but it was an impressive one that came on Echovolt Records last year and suggested he has a passion for moody and lo-fi deep house.

'Rari Techno' is up first and operates in an underground cavern. It sets a sombre tone with its swirling pads and buried deep kicks all obscured by a grainy sheen of dust. That analogue warmth continues with 'Wig $plit' which has a loose and raw percussive line laid over tender piano chords, bumpy drums and a gritty vocal rap. It’s a fresh fusion that will get clubs on their toes before 'Mutuality' again sounds all knackered and broke, scuffed up and imperfect with its squelchy synths, off time hits and stuttering kicks. Last of all 'Overcaste Tune' is another zoned out and moody deep house offering that sounds like L.I.E.S. artist Terekke at his best. This is a brilliantly insular and atmospheric EP that oozes subtle emotion and a cautious sense of optimism.

The 3rd edition of the Dance 2017 series is a double A side featuring a track from the highly regarded Palms Trax and also the debut production from Secretsundaze aka Giles Smith & James Priestley.

Secretsundaze step up with their very first production as a duo. Both Giles and James have a catalogue of production work already, Giles as Two Armadillos with the sadly departed Martin Dawson and James alongside partners Marco Antonio Spaventi and Dan Berkson.

'Motorway Jam’ is a peak time, Detroit inspired burner with a rough analogue bassline and atmospheric detail on the top end. Keep your eyes peeled for more music from the London pair coming soon.

As the name suggests, Dance 2017 is here for one purpose and these tracks are guaranteed to make you move!

Secretsundaze - Motorway Jam

Stockholm based @conformalmusic has a blinding new EP out this week on his own @lima-express label. 'Conformal' is a sweet slice of electronic deep house. Immediately drawing you into its groove with the bouncy swing of his drums and plucked synths before diving deep with the subby bassline. The excellent use of reverb and birds chirping gives this track such a nice atmosphere. We'll be keeping an eye on him and his label for sure.

With 25 years in the game, Freerange and Delusions Of Grandeur boss Jimpster knows what he's doing. So when he asks a producer to remix one of his tracks it's the ultimate seal of approval. 

With that in mind, Scottish producer Telfort absolutely delivers with his remix of 'Becoming Cyclonic' taking the swinging, melodic groove of the original and flipping it into euphoric no-nonsense house music.
