We're back with Conformal's new two tracker today. If you were a fan of the last premiere we did of his, we're sure you'll be on the same page here. Another beautiful 5 minutes of electronic tinged house steeped in Scandinavian flavours. Based around a haunting vocal sample and modular-esq zapping synth sequence, Conformal is really building a nice little rep for danceable yet emotionally tinged music.

Coming up next on the mighty FINA records is an EP by Mathew Ferness, an exciting rising star for just his second ever EP, It features three tracks that showcase his musical house style with a remix from Helsinki's Saine.

Ferness hails from a small town near Montreal in Quebec, He started DJing in his teens but inspired by J Dilla began producing on a sampler and drum machine. An exploration of analogue sounds, DAWS and most recently electronic music have all lead him to the rich sound he has now. His last EP on Beat changers was championed by Rhythm Section International and Radio 1 tastemaker Bradley Zero and this latest EP is likely to prove just as popular.

Here we have Saine's take on 'At First Sight' with its walking synth sequences, rough edged drums, bubbly melodies and phased-out swirling pads. As usual with Saine its got ounces of bounce and a cheeky smile behind its production.

Time for something a little bit different here from us. Kraak & Smaak have put together a new compilation album stuffed full of lovely tunes, covering a wide variety of styles. We've got the Slo-mo piano track by Snacks, who you may recall had a tasty ep back in '16 on House of Disco. Lazy beats are intertwined with dusty pianos, synths swells and a sweet & soulful vocal. This is the kind of thing that you could expect to see upcoming on our Jamz label imprint in the future.

Museek Records is an Italian label with a simple but honest philosophy: if the music is good and they dig it, they'll release it. To date, it's meant the label has flirted with a range of different sounds, with the general consensus being that their way of working has emitted some staggeringly impressive results to date. A similar thread courses throughout the diverse sounds of their latest. This time about, it comes at us from Davide Cuoghi aka Imaginary Part, a relatively elusive producer with but a few releases to his name so far. Machine Learning is his debut LP - and it truly is a joy to behold. Davide takes inspiration from a mathematical notion vis his alias, as in mathematics complex numbers are made from a real part and an imaginary part. Without the imaginary part they are purely real. Imaginary Part is an escape from reality, taking inspiration from ambient, downtempo and abstract soundtracks.

What a delightful slab of cosmic disco funk we have today courtesy of legend Tom Noble. He's remixed swedish duo Dagfest who's name translates to 'Day Party', and this EP certainly makes you wanna party anytime during the day (or night). Tom strips back to the original a touch adding extra sleaze and that NYC boogie touch he's famous for. Be sure to check the flipside track 'Prism' for some awesome cosmic lead synth action too.

Time for something sweet and sticky off of Honey Butter's fourth release. Having previously made appearances on the boogie fantastic label Star Creature, Jehan steps up and delivers an EP full of deliciously bouncy, disco & jazz influenced riddims. 'Popcorn' is a plump little number, with smooth Rhodes and warm bass guitar skipping along to the swung-as-hell drums. But its those huge filtered synth chords that make the track when they drop. Oosshh

Harrison BDP is back on Shall not Fade's sister label Lost Palms. His track 'Machine Ghosts' really is a wonderfully deep and hypnotic bubbler. Dubbed out synth stabs and atmospherics are giving just the right amount of funk with a clever staccato clavichord motif. We can really see this mesmerising the dancefloor.

We got a track by legend in the making Loure up today for you fine fine people. Anyone who caught his EPs on Noir & Blanche or Apparel will know that Loure knows how to make sublime deep house grooves. Here we have a club ready track just straddling that house/breakbeat groove with pulsing deep chords, squelchy sequences and plenty of vocal chop ups to pique your interest. A little bird also told me that Loure and SB have something quite special cooked up for early 2019 too!

SB PREMIERE: Loure - So Dive [13th Hour Records]

This Canadian pair are really making waves with their earliest productions having built up a fine reputation for their residency at Montreal’s famous house Mecca, Stereo nightclub and occasional appearances at Piknic Electronik.
'Pazass' is a perfectly dreamy tune with colourful synths that move about with real fluidity. The infectious groove locks you in and the pair show a nice touch of restraint with the synth programming and arrangement. Proving that their name is quite an apt choice.

Iceland's Intr0beatz has had quite the year, rising through the ranks to become a name many people are talking about, and the same can also be said for ya boii Cody. As you'd come to expect with both these names, quality and bounce is supplied by the truck here. Cody manages to distill even more funk and swing out of the original, utilising key aspects but adding in his own synth workouts we've come to know and love from him. Seeing out the year in style!

‘Boomboomroundtheroomroom’ employs dusty drums, frenzied synth stabs and gritty bass chops, a cut harkening back to the most robust sounds coming out of Chicago in the 90’s.
