During his 15+ years as an artist, Lorenz has evolved his musical niche into a custom blend of his most favorable influences. His music has quickly caught the attention of the underground’s most revered imprints, with tracks now sitting comfortably on labels such as  Defected, House of Disco Records, Heist, Dirt Crew and Compost. His latest, Le Noir EP, lands on 10 Questions and explores the depths of ‘80s inspired Italo Disco (with a contemporary twist) over the course of three flawlessly cohesive tracks.

Whilst his renowned reputation was built off an undeniable enthusiasm for synths and production. Today, Lorenz puts down the keys and enters the booth for 60 minutes of seamless Nu Disco mixing. Fiercely funky and daringly deep, expect to hear tracks from the likes of Ian Pooley, Austin Ato, Purple Disco Machine, Session Victim and more.

We feel this set is a perfect representation of that deephouse sound which is taking over eastern Europe as we speak. Warm deep sounds with dashing hats full of warm bases and pretty rhodes, add to that a couple of amazing timeless disco tracks/samples and you’ve got the vibe we’re going for. Funkyjaws resides from Belarus and got picked up quickly because of his briljant two releases on Kolour LTD which he produced alongside Four Walls. His latest work just came out on Thatmanmonkz’s Shadeleaf and more is to be found on Petr Serkin’s Freedom Sessions. One of our favourite edits is actually produced by Funkyjaws and is called Star Struck which you can find on Glen View. But before we go any further and come across all starstruck, let’s take it easy and listen to this beautiful podcast, which even contains some unreleased material by the man himself.

For Daniel Leseman & Junktion (Hans Peeman), successful producers on their own merits and friends since childhood, a collaboration was inevitable. The success of it of course never is, but their house sound infused with disco and a lot funk has been proven to be very infectious.

After the infamous Detroit Swindle signed them to their Heist imprint and released the booming Kill Frenzy EP their name was established firmly to quick growing broader audience. Resulting in request for Dj-sets across Europe & the America’s, with personals highlights on Glastonbury, LoveBox and Output New York.

Their first vinyl release as Fouk, on their own created Outplay Records was met with great enthusiasm, the brilliant reactions to ‘Stuff Your Dad Liked’ and ‘Cat Lady’ propelled Fouk and Outplay firmly into the scene as the ‘one to watch’. Following swiftly on, they produced a formidable remix for Lay-Far on the Swedish Local Talk Records. That’s how Lorenz Rhode describes his sound and it’s pretty spot on. After a fierce funk EP on Compost Records he produced a slew of brilliant cuts for the excellent Exploited Records, including "Motor Cortex" (single of the month in Mixmag), "Something Hot", which got love from Top-DJs as A-Trak, Sinden, DJ Mehdi, Aeroplane, Hudson Mohawke, Breakbot, and "Superficial Robots" which came with a remix courtesy of Jimmy Edgar. Together with soul genius Jamie Lidell he released "Any Kind Of Pressure" on Kitsuné Maison, pairing Jamie‘s magnificient voice with manic Hi-NRG rhythms and old school synths.

His music is equally at home at erm, home, or on the dancefloor, and has both a little something for the head and something for the feet and hips. The man got funk!
