Intr0beatz, the alias of Reykjavik native Arsaell Thor Ingvason, is a beatmaker and producer with an enduring passion for groove. Immersed in his father’s music collection and compositions from a young age, Ingvason first made a name for himself in the late ’90s-as a turntablist and later as a beat producer for various Icelandic hip-hop groups, while also crafting tracks for international rap artists.

A carpenter by profession, Ingvason has built an impressive musical career, combining skilled turntablism with a deep appreciation for vinyl and vintage samplers. His 2011 release Half Time on Möller Records-a heady fusion of chill-out, deep house, funk, and hip hop-marked a pivotal moment in his artistic evolution. Since then, he’s immersed himself in the world of house music, releasing a steady stream of 12” records and EPs on respected labels including Dark Energy, Plastik People, SlothBoogie, Lagaffe Tales, Stay True Sounds, Aterral, and his own imprint, Cosmic Angles.

Intr0beatz is now a central figure in Iceland’s house music resurgence, performing and DJing across Canada, Europe, South Africa, and Japan. Recently back in the studio after paternity leave, he’s now based in Berlin with upcoming releases slated on Aterral and Cosmic Angles.

Mix Theory 004 - Rio Tashan

Definitly one of my favorite rides of the 2025 summer. Not gonna lie, I was quite nervous in the beginning. Tugged in between the trees, good sound, lovely lights and a fantastic group of people standing on the other side of the booth. That felt good and special, and got me a little nervous at the same time. Just had 1,5 hour but managed to squeeze in a good variety of tunes. Started with a gentle touch but realised I needed some more energy and quickly found my way to some more heavier/deeper stuff (or at least heavy for my taste). After that I found a way for some more energetic uplifting rhythms and finally ended it all with a very soft landing.
I think I described it well enough, but if you can think of a better description, I am all ears after you have listened to the mix :)

This week we welcome Berlin based Aussie, Eluize into the mix. Playing alongside her last year at Hallo Montag we were taken in by the beauty and subtlety of her track selection, and at that point knew we needed to get her involved. 

Her debut LP on Craigie Knowes is a beautiful 7 track journey through voice and sound. A unique blend of Eluize's voice, drum machines and synthesis have built an album that flows between dancefloor hypnotics and melodies that throw you out to drift in a lonely cosmic ocean, and a lot of that expression is captured here in her mix.
