After seven years in the game and a number of various side projects, Apparel Music has recently announced another venture. Apparel Wax, the newest addition to curator Giuseppe D'Alessandro aka KiSk's lineup is one strictly for the heads with the focus being solely on the music. The artists of each release will not be revealed but will rather all be under the collective umbrella of the Apparel Wax brand. The direction of the music will be largely influenced by disco, funk and jazz. It seems that the new catalogue is already catching on as the first release is currently sitting at number 5 on the deep house best sellers list on Juno.

We were of course naturally quite curious to find out some more details about the new project and managed to get some further insight from Giuseppe himself, as well as a fresh mix with current and forthcoming Apparel Wax gems. Read the full interview below!

Jacques is a DJ and producer from the Washington, D.C. are​a​ who lives and works in Brooklyn. He runs Let's Play House, a roving house, disco, and techno party as well as a​n imprint​ of the same persuasion, with friend and partner, Nik Mercer. He owns three plants, a rotary mixer, thousands of records, and a similar number of T-shirts. ​ Despite working within the confines of a different genre, Dischord Records is still probably his favorite label.​

For our first episode of Wemoto Radio, we speak with him about his introduction into producing music and his approach with using samples to create his distinctive mixture of deep, soulful house music.

For Volume 121 of the series, we are proud to present a true legend of the San Francisco/Bay Area underground house scene.

Swingkidd started his journey into DJ’ing in 1992, when the Northern California Rave scene was birthed. When the raves started getting busted, the events moved into the night (and day) clubs in San Francisco where Swingkidd was fortunate to play & hold residencies.

Swinkidd continues his House Music journey currently playing local events such as Strut, In & out at The EndUp, Broke Buddha, Rhythm Method, Elements of House, Feel it! And Wish Bar to name a few. He provides his own monthly event at Mars Bar call “Danceflō “.

Currently Swingkidd has a show called “STOPWARS!dance on both HOUSEHEADSRADIO.com & sugarshackradio.com, and has been busy DJing both in and around the Bay Area as well as travelling to his "2nd Home", Berlin Germany earlier this summer to play various events. 

As you can see, Swingkidd is a veteran in the scene and we are stoked to welcome him to SRS!!
