Fans of disco unite! Our next Mixed By guest is New York mainstay, Eli Escobar. After two decades behind the decks and three albums to his name, Eli continues to be an inspiration for both dancers and DJs alike. We asked him about the scene, his favorite closing track, and what the future holds for the disco evangelist – hint, it might just be a full-length LP with singer-songwriter Nomi Ruiz. Enjoy! Sebb Junior is a french DJ Producer based in Spain,one of the best artists on Traxsource:

Releases on Large, Dvine Sounds, Toolroom, Milk&Sugar, Salted Music, Madhouse, Nervous & many more

Into music since the early 90s with his roots into Hip Hop culture, Sebb has been making waves in the House Music scene since 2015, with his soul-infused cut and paste sample tracks and releases on legendary labels like Salted music, Large Music, Kerri Chandler’s Madhouse Records, DJ Spen’s Quantize Records, Papa Records, and tracks licensed to Hed Kandi, Toolroom, or Milk & Sugar Recordings compilations.

2017, after releasing more than 200 tracks in only 2 years, Sebb decided to open the door of his studio for everyone and released his frst samplepack that reached the number one spot on Beatport Sounds Deep House. He also released the same year his debut album « Rewind » on Papa Records featuring eleven of his trademark sample-science high-quality grooves. All this hard work led him to get 9 tracks placed in the Deep House Top 200 sales of 2017 on Traxsource and to be named 2nd best Deep House artists of 2017 by the online store.

2018, Sebb feels the need to get more independence so he launched his vinyl and digital label La Vie d’Artiste Music, mainly for his own projects and a few close artists friends. The same year Sebb was nominated 3rd Deep House Artist of 2018 by Traxsource.

2019, Sebb released his single « Beach » on his own imprint La Vie D'Artiste Music, the song quickly reached the first place into the Deep House Hype top 100 of Beatport .
Just a few months after that, Sebb released his second album « Hold On » on the Spanish label Sub Urban, reaching the second place into the top album of Traxsource.

For the last 12 years, the way that Detroit-based DJ Pontchartrain has approached music, is centered around two things - learning and sharing. The result has been an interesting change up from the status quo of what comes out of the motor city. Heavily funk-infused and sample-laden original productions, edits and reworks that border on brand new versions of the track, and sets that string together a wide array of sounds that all center around the idea that dancing and feeling music are the main goals.

What started off as a project for edits and DJ tools has turned into a rediscovery of the roots of dance music. This shift in the last few years has pushed him into the new opportunities with some of the greatest labels in disco and house realm, and interesting achievements across the globe.

Currently he serves as A&R for one of the most prominent edits labels in the world, Whiskey Disco, and for the house subsidiary, Lovedancing. In addition to curating these two outlets and putting out his own records on them as well, in the past few years alone he has released on over a dozen labels, including Kolour LTD, Rocksteady Disco, Delusions of Grandeur, Toy-Tonics, Soul-Clap Records, Masterworks Music and more. Output has been nothing short of consistent, hitting #1 chart positions on sites such as Juno, several times.

Like many of the great Detroit artists he looks up to, there’s a humble blue collar aspect to his background as well. Pontch still works as a social worker directly with drug addicts getting back on their feet right here in the motor city. He volunteers with groups such as Give A Beat, LRNG, Girls Rock Detroit, local public libraries, and is now a volunteer and teacher at Spin Inc music production school. Music is truly a way of life, part of the greater idea of lifting each other up. His actions, sounds, and personality encompass this idea.

This week’s guest on Ana Fernandes Fade to Sunset is DJ, Producer and founder of Let’s Play House, Jacques Renault. 
Jacques was a post-punk Washington, D.C. native who moved to Chicago in 1997 to continue his studies of viola, but in turn got an education in dance music. Tapping into the well-established drum 'n' bass scene, he held a residency at Smart Bar and became a buyer at the legendary Gramaphone Records. This broad, raw exposure to House lead him straight back to the classics of Disco and its heart, New York City, where he landed in 2002. After nearly a decade of playing for others in NYC, Jacques, along with good friend Nik Mercer founded Let's Play House, a roving house, disco, and techno party as well as an imprint of the same persuasion.
As a DJ, he’s played in some of the most renowned clubs and parties around the globe and with his remixes, edits, original tracks, and collaborative project Runaway, he has released music on internationally acclaimed labels such as DFA Records, RVNG Intl. Rekids, Italians do it better, and many more.
