Butch: A DJ’s DJ, A Producer’s Producer, A Electronic Music Chameleon

Some DJs chase trends. Butch sets them. With two decades in electronic music, he moves effortlessly between house, techno, and everything in between. From closing Circoloco at DC-10 to extended sets at Robert Johnson, his sound is always evolving.

Born in Mainz with Turkish roots, Butch hustled his way into the scene, earning multiple Best Producer awards and working with legends like Ricardo Villalobos, Armand van Helden, Cassius, Maceo Plex, and Keinemusik. His releases on Innervisions, Running Back, Defected, Rekids, Diynamic, and Cuttin’ Headz have shaped the underground.

2025 is set to be massive, with his remix of Duck Sauce’s “Falling In Love” already dominating dancefloors and more releases on the way. Butch doesn’t follow rules—he just makes music that moves people.

Bio:
Despite the many weird and wonderful submissions they get from Joe Public at Data Transmission – think everything from bottles of homemade hooch to used underwear – Data Transmission freely admit that we were most surprised to receive a cassette accompanied by a polaroid photo of alphabetti spaghetti spelling out ‘I AM RON MEXICO’ in the post at the tail end of last year. Intrigued, DT dusted off their Walkman and gave the tape a listen to find that what was on offer, was, well…surprisingly good!!! They then set about finding him online, only to find that there was not a single mention of him on the internet.

Several weeks passed and having written Ron Mexico off as an elaborate prank concocted by the over active imagination of one of their many friends with far too much time on their hands, Data Transmission didn’t expect to hear from him again. Then the postman delivered a bottle of tequila every day for twelve days. A postcard then followed, with the following message inscribed in Spanish “Now you’re suitably inebriated, perhaps we can talk on Facebook”. One brief chat later, Data Transmission had arranged for Ron to come with us to burgeoning snow festival, Rise, wherein we’d meet the mysterious selector in the flesh for the first time. His rider, predictably contained a variety of mescal, alongside “1 semi-inflated inflatable shark, a frozen banana and a copy of the Karate Kid on VHS”. The time in the French Alps with a masked Ron was fleeting and having ingested what we’d consider a potentially lethal amount of Mexican spirits, Ron Mexico left as much of an enigma as he’d arrived.

6 years on and Ron Mexico became the selector of all music for Data Transmission

After some gentle coaxing and assurances by Hobbs (UK) that he wouldn’t bring any “cameras or cops” ‘Ron’ instructed him to meet him at London’s St. Katharine’s Dock at 10.47 AM precisely with the promise he’d see him. And see him he did. Arriving by jetski, the still masked Mr. Mexico disembarked on to a pontoon wherein they set about creating 'Scolarisé à Domicile'.

For Daniel Leseman & Junktion (Hans Peeman), successful producers on their own merits and friends since childhood, a collaboration was inevitable. Their house sound infused with disco and a lot of funk has been proven to be very infectious.

After the infamous Detroit Swindle signed them to their Heist imprint and released the booming Kill Frenzy EP their name was established firmly to a broad and quickly growing audience. The result was requests for DJ sets across Europe, the America’s & Australia with personal highlights including Glastonbury, LoveBox, Concrete Paris, Output New York, Club Space Miami, Claire and De Marktkantine in Amsterdam.

Their first vinyl release as Fouk, on their own Outplay Records was met with great enthusiasm, the brilliant reactions to ‘Stuff Your Dad Liked’ and ‘Cat Lady’ propelled Fouk and Outplay firmly into the scene as the ‘one to watch’. Since then they’ve released EP’s on Room With A View, The House of Disco and Razor-n-Tape and made a string of strong remixes for the likes of Kraak & Smaak, Smoove & Turrell, Groove Armada, The Brand New Heavies, Luke Million, Joey Negro and Mayer Hawthorne.

After releasing ‘Release The Kraken EP’ featuring Thumpasaurus on The House of Disco, ‘Truffles EP’ on Heist Recordings in 2019 and two EP’s on their own Outplay offshoot ’24 Carrot’ they return again on Heist in 2021 with ‘Blue Steel EP’. Continuing to build on the sound they have evolved throughout the years with a new impulse of creativity.

Born from an Italian father and American mother originating in Gaeta Italy, a small coastal town between Naples and Rome Giuseppe started his musical carrier at 15. Mixing a career at sea as a navigator on board some of the world’s largest cruise ships with the small town roots of Gaeta inspires deep, fresh and insightful beats. 
Driven by his father’s artistic background Giuseppe’s early career started with local clubs and DJ’ing local events. Starting work as a navigator Giuseppe creates his music between home and the sea always lending passion to his work and with the classic flare creates all his DJ Sets from original vinyl. Constantly looking for new tools that will add the icing to the cake to his productions such as rare vinyl and vintage synthesizers; delivering all house lovers the experience that made house music standout years ago. 
It’s always been his dream to create music for some of the world’s biggest labels and spin the decks at the most exclusive clubs; hopefully with each production he moves one step closer to success. 
Working hard to release new sounds fused from the experience as a DJ, vinyl collector & traveller Giuseppe brings a new flavor to the house scene that you will hopefully enjoy as much he enjoys creating…
