A Bigger Splash w. Lee B & Nick Cubs - October 2022

We have been following the guest of this new episode of Canela En Surco for a long time, thanks to our friend Paul Marele from Subwax (one of the DJs with the best records and least pretensions that we know) informing us of the 2 (and only) mixes that Mandel had uploaded online at that time. From the moment we heard them, we became absolute fans of his selection of records and his way of playing them; one of them was a YouTube at HÖR where Mandel looks serious and starts to give a lesson in how House should be DJed, where the soul is more important than the technique, and with a love for your records as if each one of them were your best treasure.

After the pandemic, and with the doors of the clubs now open, Mandy visited Barcelona and our friendship went from 0 to 100 from the first moment. As we got to know him, our admiration for him as a person also grew; his way of seeing music and DJing is very similar to ours, and furthermore, he spends all his money on them just like us, LOL.

On one of these visits where Mandel came from Italy to look for records we were able to convince him to come over and record with us; it must be said that Mandy began to do a b2b with our director Breixo Martínez without ever having played any of his records, since he had just found them in a couple of warehouses in Italy. They had both just worked all day and were very tired, but the result is almost 3 hours of elegant House gems with soul

Seelie invites Macedonia's Igov V for very balearic breakfast show. Lots of guitar riffs, sweeping  synths and beautiful vocals in array of languages. Made for early spring sundowners by the Adraitic sea.   Igor Vajović is an explorer, collector and selector. He has been DJing since 2017. During that time, he performed in the clubs 20/44, KC Grad, DOT, Minus Eden and Epicenter in Skopje, as well as at the festivals Exit, Devet and Lovefest. He is the co-author of the show Postcards from Belgrade on the Macedonian Amok radio, together with Nneco. Street soul, rock, boogie, afro, disco and house can be heard in his musical selection, but he does not neglect the club sound such as breakbeat, techno and trance of the 90s.

Their friendship behind the decks started as Polyphonic, then became quickly something different giving birth to Slow Fire Disco Machine, an entity exploring sounds from the world with no restriction of genre, with eyes (and ears) to groove and good vibes.
When they're not digging or djing, SFDM runs a YouTube Channel where  they upload their finds  & edits.
They also curate the "Espresso"  monthly show on Rocket Radio Milano, where they often invite friends from all over the world
