Mit unserem nächsten Schleichcast stellen wir euch diesen Monat Sarah-Mo (@sarahslomo) & Amunik (@amunik) aus Wien vor! Wir sind mega happy, dass wir sie für unsere Podcast Reihe gewinnen konnten! <3 Das Artwork ist von Caitlin Backhouse.

~Zeit für ein schleichendes Frage & Antwort Spiel~

>>Wer seid ihr und woher kommt ihr?
Wir sind Sarah Mo & Amunik alias Marisa und George, zwei leicht verplante Träumer aus Wien, die leider sehr schleichend mit diesem Podcast vorangekommen sind, da sie der Sommer mit all den neuen und zurück gekehrten Veranstaltungen, die sie zum Teil selbst organisieren, komplett überrascht und eingespannt hat! Wir pendeln derzeit von einer Veranstaltung zum nächsten Festival und haben gerade ein eigenes drei Tages Event auf unserem Zweitwohnsitz in den Wiener Weinbergen mit Blick über die ganze Stadt abgehalten... :) Kennen & lieben gelernt haben wir uns bei einem Gig vor über einem Jahr, bei dem wir feststellten, wie gut langsamer Afro House und slow melodic techno Sounds gemeinsam harmonieren <3

>>Wie kamt ihr zum Auflegen?
Zum Auflegen gekommen ist George nach seiner Hip-Hop und Rap Karriere vor über 10 Jahren, als er Sänger bei den Aphrodelics war und noch mit Platten auflegte. Sarah Mo hat als Mitgründerin des Downtempo Kollektivs Heimlich (@heimlichaufsc) vor über 4 Jahren noch einige Zeit gebraucht, bis sie ihre elektronischen Musikschätze, die sie seit ihrem 14 (!) Lebensjahr sammelte, mit heute 40 Jahren auch vor Publikum hinter den Decks ausgepackt hat. Amunik vereint mit seinem Sound Klänge aus seiner nigerianischen Heimat mit fetten Beats. So entstand in Verbindung mit Sarah Mo's oft sehr emotionalen Tracks ein dennoch treibender gemeinsamer Sound.

>>Was gefällt euch besonders an "langsamer" Musik?
Wir teilen unsere Liebe für das Langsame nicht nur in unserem gemeinsamen Namen „Sloife“, (wobei „ife“ auf jyruba, der in Nigeria meist gesprochenen Sprache, Liebe bedeutet), sondern auch, weil der Sound slow einfach mehr „rollt“, Nachdruck verleiht und auch weitaus mehr dem Naturell von uns beiden Oberchillern entspricht, die die Musik und ihr Leben gern in vollen Zügen gemach genießen...

>>Was hat euch für das Set inspiriert?
Inspiriert vom Wiener Badesommer auf der Donauinsel und an unserem Lieblingsspot weit über der Stadt in den Wiener Weinbergen, wo wir beide in unserem dortigen kleinen ehemaligen Poolhaus dem „Bergheim“ feiern, auflegen und uns in der wunderschönen Natur erholen, ist dieses Set entstanden :)

>>Was ist euer aktueller Lieblingstrack oder Set?
Unser derzeitiger Lieblingstrack ist „Prometheus“ von Kapoor 

>>An welchen schönen Moment denkt ihr in Verbindung mit elektronischer Musik gerne zurück?
Besondere Momente in Verbindung mit elektronischer Musik erleben wir beide vor allem dann, wenn wir uns mal wieder stolz unsere neuen musikalischen Schätze gegenseitig vorstellen und feststellen, dass der eine oder andere Track mal wieder derselbe ist :)

>>Was wünscht ihr euch in Zukunft fürs Nachtleben?
Nachdem dieser Sommer viele Gigs für uns gebracht hat und wir mit Demos und Leib und Seele selbst für das Wiener Clubleben – und Bestehen kämpfen ist unser derzeit größter Wunsch, dass im Herbst nicht gleich alles wieder zugedreht wird!

This release is inspired by the Japanese Manga Princess Mononoke. That morning the first November storm lashed over the witch’s forest. Hekske (the little witch) and Falke (the 10-year old witch apprentice) were huddling under their warm moss blanket, and in no hurry to get out of bed. Life of a witch can be very pleasant and rewarding … but just not on rainy and windy November mornings like these. Falke got impatient and lamented ‘Grrrrr… wish I was on the other side of the world’. Hekske immediately warned her friend that she should be careful with what she says, as she had noticed that Falke’s words can be extremely powerful at times.
Then from under their moss blanket the girls noticed that the storm had abruptly calmed down. And strangely, they were suddenly surrounded by the peaceful sound of singing birds. The 2 witches took a peek at their surroundings and were dumbfounded when they realized that they were in the middle of spring, with fresh green leaves on the trees and all kinds of birds frenetically making nests. Hekske and Falke got up and went for a walk through the forest where they noticed lots of peculiar plants, like giant ferns. 
In a clearing they saw a group of local witches, who apparently had been waiting for them. They looked very different from European witches and they were all covered with tattoos, each with a unique design. The eldest witch greeted their guests according to the local custom, gently pressing her nose to Hekske’s nose, and their foreheads touched as well. After this greeting she smiled and said ‘Welcome to Aotearoa‘. Night was falling and the hospitable Māori witches started preparing a special dish for their guests. It was named pikopiko and consisted of young curled fern shoots. And it was absolutely delicious. After dinner, Hekske asked the Māori witches about their tattoos, and they proudly showed them all, explaining that each tattoo has a unique design and deeper meaning. The eldest witch asked whether their guests also wanted a tattoo for the occasion. Just a temporary one, as real tattoos need years of reflection on this island. Both Hekske and Falke were very eager. The Māori witch asked which design they wanted. Immediately Falke had a vision of a mythical bird which looked very weird … a grey and green parrot living high up in the snow-capped mountains, with bright orange feathers under its wings. The Māori witches were amazed by Falke’s description. They explained that this bird was not a myth, but actually a real species of parrot named ‘Kea’ which lives in the nearby mountains. 
The next day, the Māori witches prepared special ink using plants and minerals which they had collected in the forest. They drew green feather patterns over Hekske’s and Falke’s shoulders and arms, and elegant grey lines over their chests and bellies. The finishing touch was a streak of bright orange over their armpits and upper arms. Not only did it look beautiful, but it also felt very powerful and both Hekske and Falke felt pure Kea energy descending deep into their bodies and souls.  After finishing the body painting session, they suddenly became very restless and felt an irresistible urge to fly. Finally they couldn’t hold it any longer and took off. They were soon flying over lush green fern forests and stunning waterfalls, before soaring higher and higher over the snowy mountains, where they were joined by a flock of ebullient Keas. The witches quickly found out why a group of Keas is called a circus. Flying with them was so much fun that Hekske and Falke started to yell from pure joy, but the only sound they could utter was ‘Kee-aaaa!’. The parrots flew like true acrobats over majestic fjords and perfectly shaped volcanoes. The witches didn’t know where to look first. The island of Aotearoa was so incredibly beautiful… a real garden of Eden hidden far far behind the horizon…

Heute reisen wir mit sound(ge)cloud in den hohen Norden … direkt in die Schwedische Hauptstadt Stockholm. Hier treibt ein ganz besonderer Musiker sein akustische Unwesen … Victor Norman. Sowohl seine DJ-Sets als auch seine grandiosen Produktionen begeistern mich schon seit Jahren. Das Schöne an ihm ist das er sich in keine Schublade packen lassen kann. Er kann mal schneller und mal langsamer, mal deep und dann auch so positiv --- ganz wieder schwedische Sommer --- mal ganz heiß und dann doch auch wieder viel Regen. 

Lieber Victor tausend Dank für die zwei grandiosen Stunden die du mir und uns hier gebastelt hast. Und nun mach ich mich auf den Weg nach Berlin … zur Afterhour _Sounds Sause im Klunkerkranich … habt ein schönes Weekend
