Jetzt wird gechillt! Das Produzenten-Trio STRUBOSKOP zeigt, wie’s geht – und zwar mit ihrer neuen EP „Just Chill“. Pünktlich zum Sommerbeginn gibt drei frische Original-Tracks und einen Remix, die von St. Tropez bis Miami jede Yacht zum Schaukeln bringen. 
Für ihren ersten Release auf dem brasilianischen Label ROYAL SOUL RECORDS ziehen Struboskop alle Register: Auf dem Titeltrack „Just Chill“ haben sie mit MC JOE DUGZ kollaboriert, den Österreichern besser bekannt als FM4-Moderator und -DJ Joe-Joe. Der gebürtige Brooklyner lebt schon lange genug in Österreich, um wie ein echter Wiener zu sudern und alle Stresser zum gepflegten Chillen aufzufordern – unterstützt von Deephouse-Klängen mit einem unwiderstehlich jazzigen Groove aus der Beatschmiede von Struboskop. Das DJ-Urgestein ED ROYAL von Innvision Records macht im Remix aus „Just Chill“ einen hypnotischen Housetrack, der auf keiner Beachparty fehlen darf. Denn Tanzen und Chillen müssen kein Widerspruch sein.
Dazu gibt es a B-Seiten von Struboskop, die sich auch als A-Seiten gut gemacht hätten: Einmal „Hit The Record Button“, der einen Funk-Klassiker als bretternde Funky-House-Nummer neu auf den Tanzflur bringt. „The Funk Joint“ schließt die EP mit einem Knall ab: Sexy-smoove Soli von Saxofon-Supertalent VALENTIN GASSER, eine Synth-Bassline wie in alten Tagen und Vocals aus dem Gitarrenverstärker – so ein Opfer nimmt der Funk-Gott gerne an.

Great ep all round from the Viennese crew, but for me its all about the main track - love the laidback vibe against the cynical + twisted vocal and acidic b-line against the Rhodes and congas. IMO the best thing yet from Stroboskop! (Solid State / All Out War)

Masterworks music launch a new series of 10" special editions with this sublime 10" from rising French star Closed Paradise. If you've kept you ear and eye on this cat, you'll know that his thing is groovy, dancefloor magic which shakes its shit right across the house/disco/Balearic spectrum. This latest missive is no exception, and A-side cut "Your Love I'm Gonna Take" is a lesson in sampler use for the rest of us. The producer selects some choice cuts from a soulful strutter and lays them out around a chunky sunset house bassline, tweaking the EQ and teasing the loops out into many a joyful crescendo. Jazzy piano work, coastal guitar licks and a warm sound make this a future Adriatic classic. B-side banger "The Vision" hits us with a headnodding, slo-mo rhythm, cycling into the kind of robotic boogie chugger you'd expect to blow the roof off at El Diablo's. If you dig on Sleazy Beats, early Wolf Music or Jisco, then this is most certainly your jam!

„Als ich mit der Produktion des Track „Headlights Off“ anfing“, erzählt @o-m-e-r-o, „existierte mein Pseudonym noch gar nicht.“ Zu der Zeit arbeitete er nur an seinen üblichen Sachen, die er für das Duo Etwas Anders kreierte. Beim Entstehungsprozess merkte er, dass er ein neues „Ablassventil“ benötigt: „Mein Sound war einfach ein anderer Musikstil.“ Eine gewisse Freiheit und Lockerheit empfand Omero bei „Headlights Off“. „Im Grunde ist diese EP durch meine eigene Liebe zur Musik inspiriert worden“, ergänzt er. After a long hiatus Shir Khan hits us with the 14th edition featuring Onsra & Bas Roos. Secret Parisian project Onsra returns after killing it with "Funky Town" last year. First he gets down on the terrace with the loopy banger of "So Good". A 112BPM disco house number which has a touch of that old Soundstream magic about it yet is instantly, undeniably a Shir Khan favourite. When those string-led bridge sections burst into life you should see the whole terrace unite under some Vitamin D-laced pleasure. "Other Day" packs a bit more umph with tough boogie licks looped and chopped for more funky dancefloor goodness. Bas Roos takes over the flip and is a newbie youngster from Rotterdam with a fresh residency at Toffler Club keeping things bright, smooth and wide-eyed with "Searchin" and "Don’t Let Go The Disco". Both tracks epitomizing the feel-good spirit of classic funky house whilst still keeping the modern day nu-disco crowd happy. Shir Khan rides forth! Vinyl only, limited run. Move quick!
