Paris-based producer and DJ, Marina Trench has been steadily making her mark on the contemporary house scene over the past few years. Racking up releases on esteemed imprints such as DJ Deep’s Deeply Rooted (where she debuted alongside a remix from the legendary Kerri Chandler) and WOLF Music amongst others.

Although having only released a few projects so far in her career, Trench has a long career and love affair with music, collecting records and DJing since her years as a fine art student in Bordeaux before relocating to Paris where she fully cemented herself as a member of the cities acclaimed electronic music scene.

These past few releases and her inherent ability to piece together sets drenched in soul, groove and dynamism have helped gain Marina recognition from many of the leading platforms in the scene such as Groove, DJ Mag, Worldwide FM, Tsugi and Rinse to name a few.

The future holds a series of original material releases from Trench over the coming months and many more special projects in the pipeline.

London's @tonecontrolmusic are fast completing their second decade in the game, across those years they built and incredible following for their enigmatic and atmosphere laden house music claiming no other than Kerri Chandler and Theo Parrish among their supporters for both their original tracks and their Tone Control Music label releases which across the years have also seen support from the Tony Humphries and the late great Frankie Knuckles.

Their latest release see's them hook up with the always fabulous @wolfmusicrecordings for a re-release of their classic 2005 single 'Illusion' sporting none other than Detroit legend Theo Parrish on remix duites. He has duly turned in one of the remixes of 2022 so far.

We asked Tone Control up to the LV decks to craft a mix for our Selectors Series and they have delivered a scintillating collection of classic and current house music, this is a serious mix.

One of our favourite producers of 2022 steps up with an exclusive 64 minutes of almost entirely unreleased material. Parisian producer @tour-maubourg has released an remarkable body of work in the past couple of years that connects the dots between his city's deep house and nu jazz heritage (e.g. St-Germain, Wuz, Cassius) and the contemporary jazz scene, where sumptuous 4/4 grooves and broken beats are laced with sweet vintage and analog synth solos and motifs. We predict the biggest things for him and are very happy to have him contribute to our long-running series.

*How would you describe your sound?*

I’m trying to produce modern music, mainly house, jazz, and dub related with an old school and warm feel.

*What and who inspires you and influences your sound?* 

If I had to name three main influences it would be Ron Trent and Chez Damier, for their vision and reflection on pushing forward the sound.

Basic channel for their exploration of texture and ambience. Their sound has a unique feel.

Nicolas Jaar for his abilities to touch the masses with non pop music. His ability to make complexity simpler so that anyone can understand his music.

*Can you tell us a little about this mix and what it means to you?*

I was very happy that it was only made out of my production. As I have tons of music I stick that will probably not be released, it’s a good way to take it out of my hard drive and give it a second life 🙏
