The Volume Collective is a group of people working together to make music, art and design easier for the general public to access and create. 

We are the brain children of many, joined together with the same goals and hopes for Hamilton and its local artists.

And we are helping New Zealand to show the talent that fills our streets.

The idea of Volume was inspired late 2014, and with a lot of hard work started to really come together early 2015, when the recordings started. There are lots of things in the future for us and we look forward to growing and evolving.

ITN is a five piece metal band from Auckland, New Zealand, formed in Aug 2015. The tracks posted here so far are practice room demos on the trusty Tascam.

Three shit talking, dope smoking, head banging babes who just want to smash things

Black Science are counted on by audiences to deliver a charismatic and high energy show that is both raucous and sincere. Releasing a couple of well received EPs (Make A Sound – 2010 and Cheer Up - 2014), supporting the legendary Husker Du songwriter Grant Hart and playing many gigs with nationally recognised bands and artists throughout the country have been huge career highlights. The music recorded by the band (Dylan Clarke, Alex Willi and Joss Colling) bear the fruits of the 80s alternative rock scene that emerged from indie labels like SST, Flying Nun and Creation Records. Flavouring their brand of sonic nirvana with surrealist pop melodies and intense psychedelic freak-outs. Black Science are simultaneously the band on your brain and in your eyeballs, Burn & Rave is their magnum opus (Out March 13 2017 on Lying Ready Records).

Having already lasted longer than most modern marriages, Strangely Arousing’s odyssey from Rotorua, to Raglan, to the big smoke of Auckland has been vast. After 6 years of blood, sweat, Jim Beam and tears - July 2017 saw the release of ‘Strangely Arousing’, a self-titled, 11 song exploration into the minds, hearts and souls of 5 musical gypsies from Rotorua, New Zealand.
In an era in which Fat Freddy’s Drop and Red Hot Chili Peppers are considered heritage artists and humans are no longer boxed by sexuality, one might describe Strangely Arousing as “trans genre” And comfortably so. Their reggae-based, jazz-influenced sound has led them to play for a wide range of audiences. From Raggamuffin to Rhythm and Vines, from sell out tours around New Zealand to international adventures in the Middle East and Asia. 
Highlights from last summer include playing to 15,000 people in their hometown of Rotorua at the annual Lakeside concert, headlining the Whangarei Fritter Festival with Elemeno P and N.Z dub heroes Salmonella Dub, and smashing a set at the iconic Rhythm & Vines festival. More recently, the band enjoyed its first international tour in South Korea and China. Amongst a slot at the Pentaport Rock Festival (headlined by industrial pioneers Nine Inch Nails and Mike Shinoda), multiple headline shows in China, and a few frugal nights off spent at the clubs, Strangely has grown, as individuals and as a group, to an international standard, propelling their already compelling and uplifting live show to another level. 
Wherever they go, whoever they play for, the dance floor is sure to be full of people grooving. They implant their art deep in the hearts of lovers of good music and this has given them a loyal following that continues to grow.
