The Joker's true backstory is deliberately ambiguous, with the character preferring to offer multiple-choice origins to sow chaos and maintain his mysterious nature. However, a prevalent origin involves a struggling comedian named Arthur Fleck, whose wife and unborn child die tragically, leading to his descent into insanity after falling into a vat of chemicals and gaining his signature white skin, green hair, and maddened persona. Other versions include him being a disgruntled circus worker, a veteran suffering from PTSD, or even a completely different person, emphasizing that his identity is fluid and unreliable.
