I recently watched a documentary about the history of India, which then inspired this mix. Despite our differences, we are all the same. The color of our skin is merely an outer shell of our souls.

The very concept of this mix plays with the idea of impermanence. We have only a limited amount of time on this earth to do the things we want to do. Treating fellow human beings with kindness and compassion is truly the way to live and be happy. Life is confusing and difficult at times but at the end of the day we must remind ourselves that the fact we are simply alive is an amazing thing.

"When I think of a quintessential Pride set, I always feel drawn to the more classic sounds that started it all. From the Diva vocals, lots of disco elements, and a triumphant feeling throughout, I aim to showcase the power that the classics still have on the dance floor. The sounds of the late 80’s and 90’s feel so relevant with all we have going on right now.

As we come out of quarantine in many parts of the world, I look forward to using my music platform as a medium of education on the history of the music we all love."

Bio – Harrison Apple, PhD, is an artist, archivist, and historian of Pittsburgh after-hours night clubs. They are the cofounder of the Pittsburgh Queer History project and Associate Director of the Frank-Ratchye STUDIO for Creative Inquiry at Carnegie Mellon University.
