We are so excited to guest one of the best artists in EBM scene for us! BROKEN ENGLISH CLUB! Is a project by Oliver Ho that explores the “dark friction” between man and machine. It has spawned three albums, most recently february 2021, White Rats III on L.I.E.S., which soundtracked the desolate scenes of his surroundings with eerie experimental techno. Heavy on apocalyptic synths and doom laden drums, and occasionally run through with melodic optimism, it’s a brilliant testament to Ho’s evocative studio skills after ten years of making more straight up techno as Raudive.

Elements of EBM and industrial come into focus on these albums, as they do in the most recent mix he has put together for us. In just over an hour, plenty of angular grooves, slapping drums and cold, chilly metallic surfaces unfold in dystopian fashion. We really hope we can have him with us soon.

@fairgroundoftears-music est un concept artistique dirigé par Piotr Sledzinski. Un concept qui se catégorise par les tons plus sombres, industriels et énergiques de la techno. Piotr a expérimenté la musique électronique de toutes les couleurs en partie à travers son projet Ne Plus Ultra ainsi que son implication dans le label Passive Front Records. Cette vaste expérience et cette quête d'expression mènent finalement au concept Fairground of Tears et à la série d'événements EXILED. Cette dernière accueille Melania, Operant, Violet Poison, Codex Empire, Domenico Crisci, Years of Denial pour n'en citer que quelques-uns et s'impose comme une série d'événements de premier plan et avant-gardiste. Ses propres sets et productions ne sont liés à aucun style spécifique. Ainsi, on peut s'attendre à un mélange éclectique de textures industrielles denses et d'atmosphères techno ainsi qu'à de la musique corporelle électronique dans ses mix.

Musician and activist since the first appearance of underground parties called Raves, Umwelt has never stopped to propagate a fierce, raw and analog sound supported by a voracious passion for electronic music. Founder of Rave Or Die and New Flesh Records imprint, Umwelt counts about forty releases to date, raising him among the most prolific French electronic producers. Long spent outside the radar, this adept of ferocious distortions tinted with sweet melancholy delivered in 2016 his second album, titled “Days Of Dissent” on Boidae. The opus was highly appreciated by the public and acclaimed by Press which considers it as an electro reference. Drawing his path with instinct, the Lyon based artist, a vinyl and analog freak, continues the work of early pioneers by a wild and straight on the dancefloor mode of transport, while progressively leading the listener into dark, melancholic, dancing and mental atmospheres, he alone totally controls the side effects.
